From Springhill, Louisiana on January 13, 1962 came a little tyke by the name of Tracy Darrell Adkins, and little did the world know how much this child was going to influence the country music scene in his future. It was at a young age that Trace Adkins got the music bite when his father taught him to play the guitar. High school was Adkins first experience with a gospel music group, the New Commitments. Trace then went on to play music and football at Louisiana Tech University.

The early 1990's brought Trace Adkins out of the oilrig he was working at and into honkatonks bars all around Nashville, where a Capitol Records executive was hooked by Adkins and signed him almost immediately. He released his first single, "There's a Girl in Texas", in 1996, and it got a spot on the Top 20 Billboard Hot Country Singles& Tracks charts. His debut album, Dreamin' out Loud , was released later in the same year, and came with many hit singles from it that hit the top of charts everywhere- as well as his first Number one, "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing".

He released his second album, Big Time , which had a Top 5 in the single "The rest of Mine". His third album was delayed a bit due to changes in management, but when More. did come out, true blue Trace Adkins fans could have cared less about the wait.

Throughout all of the issues and problems in Trace Adkins personal life, he always stays true to his fans and what he wants to share with country music lovers everywhere. Just recently Adkins came out with his single, "You're Gonna Miss This", which became Adkin's third Number One hit on the Hot Country Sons chart, as well as his hottest hit to date on the Billboard Hot 100. The single also got Trace Adkins a little face time on the soap opera The Young and the Restless in which he performed it as himself.

2008 brought Trace Adkins back to the top of his game as he was bestowed with a CMT Male Video of the Year for, "I Got My Game On". Trace has had some personal ups and downs in his life off of the music scene, but lately he is nothing but acing each and everything thrown his way with more than flying colors.
