Good vibes continue to come out of Kings camp about Rajon Rondo, their big name signing of the summer. After Nancy Lieberman, the team’s assistant coach praised Rondo in an interview a week ago, now George Karl also has some good words for Rondo. In an interview with the Boston Herald, Karl said that it will be a challenge to coach Rondo, but he managed to sell the point guard on his premise to give him freedom. Karl was quick to point that he has a history with mercurial point guards, coaching Gary Payton, Sam Cassel, Allen Iverson, Chaunsey Billups and Andre Miller. For his part, Rondo has also said that he believes this will be his year, proving his worth again after the last few catastrophic seasons. In another interview, Rondo said that the “sky is the limit” for the next season.

The Sacramento Kings decided to follow up the footsteps of a champion. The Kings are the second team in the NBA to employ a female assistant coach after hiring Nancy Lieberman. Lieberman is a former three time All-American and a two time Olympian championship. She was one of the original players in the WNBA, being drafted by the Phoenix Mercury for the inaugural season. She became the oldest player in the league playing at 39 in 1997 when she retired. She broke her own record on July 24, 2008, when she suited for one game for the Shock at the age of 50. Lieberman has already made her mark on the team, giving public support to Rajon Rondo, the point guard from who she expects to have one of his best seasons ever.

The King are also going into there 1st full year under George Karl as there new head coach. The Sacramento Kings should be excited because they are in there best chances to clinch playoff berth since 2006.
