Pink Floyd Los Angeles Club Nokia Theatre Facts and Information:
Pink Floyd Australia was founded in 1988 in Adelaide , Australia . Unlike other Pink Floyd cover bands, the Australia Pink Floyd puts forth maximum effort and creativity to recreate a genuine Pink Floyd experience. Performing worldwide, their success and reach has set them apart and made them one of a kind. Five years after their formation, which included the line-up of Lee Smith, Grand Ross, Jason Sawford, Steve Mac, and Colin Wilson, the band flew from Australia to perform at the First International Pink Floyd Fan Convention at the Wembley Conference Center . Organized by Brain Damage, the event threw Australian Pink Floyd into the spotlight. Their original line-up went through some changes after Lee Smith retired in 1994 and Grant Ross retired in 1998. Since 2002, Australia Pink Floyd has maintained an ever-demanding schedule of worldwide performances and has continued to expand its line-up, even including an entourage of female backing singers and a saxophone player.
In 1994, original Pink Floyd member David Gilmour attended a show at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon and soon after invited them to perform at the after-show party for the Division Bell Tour at Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London . They also performed at his 50 th birthday party in 1996. Australian Pink Floyd is the only Pink Floyd cover band to ever perform for a Pink Floyd member. Australian Pink Floyd has enjoyed many once-in-a-lifetime experiences as a result of their penchant for emulating the original mega group. They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall and were joined by the Islington Green School . Australian Pink Floyd has performed at the Glastonbury Festival, the King's Dock, Liverpool, and have completed major US, Canada , Germany , and Italy tours.
