The Miami Heat are predicted to be a top 4 team in the Eastern Conference this season.

Gerald Green looks more and more like a valuable player and an absolute steal by the Miami Heat. The forward was among the best players in the last two preseason victories by the Heat, scoring 21 points in the win against the Rockets and 19 points in the win against the Hawks. The forward has scored in double figures in five preseason games. Meanwhile, Hassan Whiteside was back from injury and played against the Rockets, scoring 12 points on 6-9 shooting. The center got the night off against the Hawks, but Miami’s starting five and bench looks formidable and promising. The bench was especially good against the Hawks, scoring 68 points as coach Spoelstra played the entire second half with his bench players.

According to Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade he accepts this year to be special for the Miami Heat and thinks there is a shot of the Heat winning there 4th championship. If the Heat want to win a championship they are going to have to rely on Dwyane Wade and the rest of the guys staying healthy and what will help them is they will have Chris Bosh back after ending his season early with blood clots in his lungs. The Heat will finally have Chris Bosh and Goran Dragic play together for the 1st time. The Miami Heat will look to show that they can win a championship even without LeBron James.

  • 09/04/2015

The Miami Heat have added another piece to the roster by signing Greg Whittington who played on there summer league team. The Heat have also decided to put the Mario Chalmers trade rumors on hold. The Miami Heat look to have one of the biggest jumps in the NBA after coming off a disappointing season with lots of injuries and with there new core of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Goran Dragic, Luol Deng, Hassan Whiteside, and Gerald Green they look to be a top 4 team in the Eastern Conference.

  • 09/03/2015

After aggressively trying to find a trade partner for Mario Chalmers, it seems now that the Heat are reluctant to trade their backup point guard. Chalmers was coming off the bench after Miami traded for Goran Dragic, and he will continue to do so this upcoming season. The problem is, the Heat are still trying to figure if young players Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson are good enough to replace Chalmers off the bench. According to latest reports, the Heat will hold on Chalmers at least until training camp and pre-season. If the young guns prove good, Chalmers immediately becomes expendable and his contract will be shed off the books. Chalmers has a $4.3 million contract, which makes him tradeable during training camp. Last season Chalmers appeared in 80 games, starting 37 of them, and averaged 10.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Chalmers was one of the players the Miami Heat hoped to dump to the Clippers in a possible Jamal Crawford trade.

The Heat continue to push for a Jamal Crawford trade, with the latest report coming from Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. The Heat are still trying to decide which players they would include in such a deal. Between Chris Andersen and Josh McRoberts, Miami has two big man that can trade, and has to figure out who fits better with Bosh and Hassan Whiteside. Trading for Jamal will also ease the pressure on new additions such as Justice Winslow to produce off the bench. Crawford will also provide scoring for the Heat, when the star guards Dwayne Wade and Goran Dragic are having off nights. But the Heat are proactive, and while they wait for a Crawford trade, the team signed Corey Hawkins, a guard that led the NCAA last season with a 48.8% shooting percentage from beyond the arc. The terms of the deal are not known, but the Heat could surely use the guard who averaged almost 21 points last season.

It looks like the Heat will finally find a way to trade Mario Chalmers as the Utah Jazz are emerging as a serious trade partner. With the injury to Dante Exum, the Jazz are left thin in the backcourt, and Chalmers makes a perfect sense for them, since he will provide scoring and playmaking, but also veteran leadership for a young and up and coming team. For the Heat, the purposes for the trade are solely financial, as the team is trying to get below the tax. Chris Andersen is also likely to be traded before the season starts, and the Heat are already trying to find cheaper alternatives for frontcourt depth. One of the players rumored to be on the Heat radar is former Heat player Dorell Wright. The power forward played for Miami from 2004 to 2010. Wright might be signed to the veteran minimum, which would significantly lower the tax payments of the team. If the Heat sign Dorell Wright, they might be reluctant to guarantee the contract of James Ennis.

  • 08/09/2015

Two trade rumors emerged during the weekend that involve the Miami Heat. The first one is that Mario Chalmers might be headed to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Heat need to shed some salary, while the Lakers could use a veteran point guard to guide D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson. Chalmers might not get much playing time in Los Angeles, but his presence could be enough. In any case, he will serve as a backup, should one of the two young point guards suffers an injury or needs to miss significant amount of games. The second rumor is less plausible, as it suggests that the Miami Heat might be interested in trading for Phoenix Suns power forward Markieff Morris. The Suns traded one of the Morris twins this summer in an effort to create more space to be players in the Lamarcus Aldridge sweepstakes. The question is, what can the Heat offer the Suns to entice them for such a trade. Morris is a decent player on a very good contract, and the Heat will have to offer more than Chris Anderseon, Chalmers and picks to get him.

The Miami Heat have added another young piece to there squad. They have signed Josh Richardson who played on there summer league team. The Miami Heat are expected to be a top 4 team in the Eastern Conference with everyone healthy and resigning Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic.

  • 08/03/2015

The Miami Heat nearly closed their roster, now having 14 players on guaranteed contracts. Rookie Josh Richardson signed a three year contract, with only the first year guaranteed. The Heat also pick up partial guarantee of Tyler Johnson’s contract, allowing him to earn half of the $900,000 he is owed. The last, 15th spot on the roster is reserved for small forward James Ennis. After failing to improve his game during the Summer League, the Heat decided to push back the deadline for his guaranteed contract. Miami will push the deadline back to opening night, at which point, Ennis’s contract will become guaranteed if he is still on the roster. But Miami can still open up roster spots if the team manages to trade Mario Chalmers and Chris Andersen. The Heat are aggressively trying to trade the two players that are excessive at the moment.

  • 07/27/2015

According to some reports, the Miami Heat intend to invite forward Michael Beasley to training camp. The Heat current have 18 players invited for training camp who will fight for 15 spots. But inviting Beasley makes sense, since he is a short term solution for the SF position. The Heat have signed Beasley three separate times, having drafted the forward as the second overall pick in 2008. In the same time, the Heat are still aggressively trying to trade Mario Chalmers, Shabbaz Nappier and Chris Andersen. The team succeeded to trade Nappier to the Orlando Magic. Miami will get a future protected second round pick from the deal, but the main goal was to unload salary. Miami is trying to find a way to trade for Clippers 6th man Jamal Crawford. The Heat has enough depth up front with the signing of Amare Stoudemire, making Anderson a luxury the team is not willing to pay for. The Heat will save a huge amount of money if they manage to trade the three players they have put on the block. Currently, Miami is over the luxury line.

The Miami Heat are looking to become the most intimidating team to knock off the Cleveland Cavaliers in the eastern conference as long as they stay healthy. They drafted Justice Winslow with the 10th overall pick where he has looked like a stud in the summer league. They also brought in Gerald Green from the Phoenix Suns and Amare Stoudemire from the Dallas Mavericks. The Heat also have resigned Dwyane Wade, Goran Dragic, and Luol Deng and Chris Bosh will be ready after missing the 2nd half of this past season with blood clots in his lungs. The Miami Heat look like a strong contender in the eastern conference.
