When he was born on September 12 th , 1931, in Saratoga, Texas, George Glenn Jones' parents had no idea the potential and fame and success their young boy would come to achieve. They did however immerse the young George Jones with a house full of music with their record collection as well as all of the gospel music George Jones was surrounded by every time he went to church. It was his seventh year that Jones found his niche. It was when his parents gave him his first taste of country music through the radio that he fell in love with the twang and tunes.

Two years after George Jones realized that country music was where his heart was he was given his first guitar on his ninth birthday. This was the turning moment in the future of George Jones and all that would become of him and his musical talent. In no time at all he was playing everywhere he could, and saving each and every dollar. At the age of sixteen a young George Jones moved on over to Jasper, Texas where he quickly found a gig at a local radio station where he gained some small town exposure.

It was before George Jones even got out of his teen years when he married for the first time, which didn't last. George Jones then ventured into the world of the United State Marine Corp. That lasted a while, but in the end when he left that role is when the world of George Jones on the country music scene started to hit it big.

Throughout his personal life, George Jones has seen many ups and downs and gotten through them all for better or for worse. Throughout it all, he never failed to impress and amazing audience after audience and fan after fan. George Jones has racked up a total of fourteen number one country hits throughout the years from his legendary "White Lightning" release in 1959 to "(I was Country) When Country Wasn't Cool". As well, this historic figure in country music history has been bestowed some of the most honorable awards any country music artist could even hope to achieve in their lifetime. From number three on the list of 40 Greatest Men of Country Music and a Grammy Hall of Fame Award to Kennedy Center Honoree this 2008, George Jones has definitely achieved all that and ten fold more.

Seeing George Jones live is an opportunity that will not come up often, and one that you don't want to miss out on. Stay in the know with all ticket information as it opens for your seats at the Live 2008 George Jones Concert Tour.
