Seal Biography

Seal was born on December 18, 1980 in Staten Island, New York and her family later resided in Pittsburgh. At the age of five she knew every one of the songs from the musical, The Sound of Music. And it wasn't extended after Christina was performing the national anthem at professional sporting events in the area.

Christinas initial key appearance was on the television show Star Search, when she was nine years old. Unfortunately, Christina didn't win. When Christina was ten she went to an open audition for The Mickey Mouse Club. She didn't make it that time, but two years later Disney asked for Christina back. Christina got a part on the show and became a Mouseketeer. Christina sang, danced and performed throughout her two years on the show.

Christina caught the eye of manager Steve Kurtz, who hooked her up with an RCA director. He was astonished by her voice and presented Christina a record deal when she was 15. About the same time he received a call from a friend who worked at Disney who was looking for someone to sing "Reflection", the lead song in the future animated film, "Mulan." He right away considered Christina. She got the gig and the song was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture. In 1999 Christina released her extremely victorious self-titled album, which features "Genie in a Bottle." Since then, Christina has released a Spanish album, "Mi Reflejo", a Christmas album, called "My Kind of Christmas", as well as her newest album "Stripped."

Her 2nd official English-language album was "Stripped." By the year 2002, her astounding voice was a great deal ignored as she began to change her "young" look into a very sexualized woman. After the release of that album, she has taken part in photo shoots for the magazines such as, "Maxim", "Rolling Stone", and "Cosmo Girl." Many of these photographs had her nude or semi-nude. At the same time, Christina began to produce a more sexually provocative look. She denied that this change was a matter of hype; she stated that it was who she really was.

Aguilera's representatives proclaimed that her third full-length English album is due in spring 2006. Like Stripped, the album's sense will be completely unlike earlier efforts, focusing more on her vocal skills and musical tastes. While interviewed during a post-Oscar party, Aguilera described the album as "a retro blues/jazz/soul record, but a really meaty, gritty, real raw record of soul." She is as well working on her second Spanish album.

She has in addition exposed an interest in becoming an actress. Though Aguilera has been offered many projects over the years, she continues to persist that she is looking for a particular role. She is said to prefer one comparable to those played by Angelina Jolie. She still avoids roles that represent herself, or any character resembling her. All through her career, Aguilera has been occupied with certain charities. Aguilera was the first celebrity to sign a letter from PETA to the South Korean government asking that the country stop its alleged "abuse of dogs and cats killed for food".

Aguilera is still a key force in her hometown of Pittsburgh contributing regularly to the Women's Center & Shelter Of Greater Pittsburgh. She also has auctioned off front row seats and back stage passes for the Pittsburgh based charity. Christina donated in the fight against AIDS, by contributing in AIDS Project Los Angeles' Artists Against AIDS "What's Going On?" cover project. In 2004 Aguilera became the new face for cosmetic company M.A.C and spokeperson for M.A.C. AIDS Fund. Aguilera was in advertisements of the M.A.C.'s Viva Glam V lipstick and lipgloss. In 2005 Aguilera got involved in a campaign with and ALDO, to raise awareness with posters and Empowerment Tags.
