New York Dolls simply oozed attitude. New York Dolls original line-up, then with former guitarist Johnny Thunder and Rick Rivets, former bassist Arthur “Killer” Kane, and Drummer Billy Murcia, began performing on the Christmas eve of !971 at the notorious Endicott Hotel. New York Dolls claim to fame was given a boost when they were invited by Rod Stewart to play as front-acts at a London concert. Unfortunately, New York Dolls’ Murcia soon passed on due to accidental suffocation. His post as New York Dolls’ drummer was succeeded by Jerry Nolan. New York Dolls’ music was inspired by music such as classical rhythm & blues and the Rolling Stones, and then produced something with the unique New York Dolls flavor. The critic named Stephen Thomas Erlewine from All Music Guide even wrote that New York Dolls "doesn't really sound like anything that came before it. It's hard rock with a self-conscious wit, a celebration of camp and kitsch that retains a menacing, malevolent edge."
.
New York Dolls released their eponymous debut album in 1973 under the Mercury label. New York Dolls first album received great reviews but did not agree with New York Dolls sales and the band’s debut album only reached 116 of the US charts.

New York Dolls released their second album, Too Much Too Soon, in 1974. New York Dolls’ second release showcased their musical talents and again the album received good reviews. However, New York Dolls were, yet again, spurned by dismal sales and the album peaked only at the 167th spot of the US charts in the summer of 1974.

Now, New York Dolls are back with their 2006 release, One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This. The New York Dolls’ latest album was released under Road Runner Records on the 25th of July, 2006.

If you want rock and roll with attitude, listen to New York Dolls and find out how it’s done.
