Hinder Biography:

Hinder is a rock band consisting of Austin Winkler on vocals, Joe "Blower" Garvey on lead guitar, Cody Hanson on drums, Mark King on rhythm guitar and Mike Rodden on bass. Hinder is a band that plays rock music, signed under Universal Records. Hinder is from Oklahoma City in Oklahoma, USA. Hinder was formed in Oklahoma City by July, 2001. It was Joe Garvey as well as Cody Hanson who started the band when they heard Austin Winkler, in a college dorm party, singing for a cover band. The three formed the core of Hinder.

They began landing gigs opening locally for acts like Theory of a Deadman, Lineup changes brought on guitarist Mark King and bassist Mike Rodden. The album of Hinder entitled, Extreme Behavior, was produced by Brian Howes and engineered by Mike Fraser. Get Stoned, as the album's first single is already adding up pre-release airplay at such fortress of Rock radio as 102.1 The Edge in Dallas/Fort Worth and CFOX Vancouver. The other single from the album, the Bliss, was about getting so wiped out to forget a broken relationship. The name of the band, Hinder, was formed when the band first get together, who were recovering from personal problems as well as in a negative state of mind. The group as a band tried to overcome those problems. The band believes that live is where you go out and get a chance to make fans from people who have no idea who you are. One has to go out there, prove their worth and win them over. Cody Hanson was born in Plano, Texas and decided to move to Oklahoma City. He started to own drums when he was twelve years old. Over the next couple of years Cody taught himself how to play. He joined a band while he was in middle school with his friends. When Hinder entered his life, it pretty much changed. The band of Hinder started with one karaoke and a microphone. But everyone who listens to their music knew they have something else to share, something unique and impressive. Joe "Blower" Garvey exposed himself in music especially rock and roll and was born in Oklahoma City. Music was around him. He started playing guitar when he was in high school. He began to take playing guitar seriously when he met Austin and Cody. Upon practicing together in Cody's place, he knew that there was something astounding with their music. Mark King was inspired by the Weezer video for Buddy Holly one day in the month of December, 1994. He loved the rhythm, and melody. He believed he was destined to rock when the solo ended. He had a degree in music and went to recording school. He graduated there in year 2004 and joined Hinder shortly after. Mike Rodden was sixteen years old when he was interested in music. When he was in high school, together with his friend, they started a band. He played bass and was hooked doing a lot of regional touring with other bands few years later. In August 2004, he joined Hinder. Three shows later, Hinder signed by Universal Records. Austin Winkler knew that he wanted to play the guitar and be involved in a band, the first time he saw someone played an acoustic guitar. He got his first guitar when he was fifteen and he started to learn songs on the radio. After high school, he began singing in a cover band and played first show at a 7-11. The band eventually stopped playing together but Austin kept on writing. He met Cody and soon after, Austin joined the band of Hinder. Cody and Austin began writing together; they found Mark and Mike in July of 2004. They played a couple of showcases and got signed six months later to Universal Records. Lately, Hinder have been touring with Hoobastank, Three Days Grace as well as Nickelback. Hinder proved that they are gifted and have something to share.the music that is amazing and unique.
