Roaring from London, Bloc Party got together in 2003 and still has the all-star lineup they came to be recognized for. It is a feat these days in the music industry for a band to stay strong and together with their original members, but it seems like a walk in the park for Bloc Party. The alternative rock band consists of Kele Okereke on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Russel Lissack on lead guitar, Gordon Moakes on bass guitar, synths and backing vocals, and Matt Tong on drums and backing vocals as well.

When Okereke and Lissack got together back in 1999 and started putting the pieces of Bloc Party together, finding a group named proved to be quite a challenge. It wasn't until 2003 that they actually decided on Bloc Party, and soon enough they were getting their plugs on BBC Radio with their "She's Hearing Voices". Audiences all over were going wild for Bloc Party, and begging for more. Soon enough they got what they wanted and Bloc Party released their debut album in 2005, Silent Alarm . Quickly enough it went on to make NME's Album of the Year Award, and Bloc Party followed it up with their second album release, A Weekend in the City in 2007. 2008 brought along the huge success of their third studio album, Intimacy .
