Road to the WCWS

College Softball Road To The WCWS 2024!

Alabama is expected to win the regular season and Florida to become the second program in SEC softball history to host a conference and win. However, Alabama and Florida’s history as conference dominant forces looks set to continue into the 2024 season.

The most dominant program in Collegiate Women’s Softball over the past decade has been Oklahoma, the 2021 NCAA champion.

Oklahoma appears to be the favorite to win both the regular season of the conference and the spring tournament.

The Sooners, who have won four of their five national championships in program history in the past ten years, have made six appearances in the series. WCWS championship has won the Big 12 for nine consecutive seasons since 2012.

After a historically dominant regular season last year, the top Sooners finishers head to the 2021 College World Series as favorites to claim their third WCWS title since 2016.

In early February, the 2024 college softball season kicks off in full force, kicking off a five-month routine culminating in an NCAA champion at the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City in June.

It’s never too early to predict regular college softball season and tournament champions.

After the Oklahoma Sooners, Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma State Cowgirls, UCLA Bruins, and the Florida Gators round out the rest of D1 softball’s top five teams.

The James Madison Dukes, the best story of the 2021 WCWS, comes in this year ranked 25th.

The season continues with numerous NCAA Women’s softball conference tournaments and championship series, culminating in the 2024 NCAA Division I Softball Championship and the 2024 Women’s Collegiate World Series.

The scheduling change moving the Women’s College World Series tournament from a seven-day tournament to a nine-day tournament eliminates the double heading for teams that lose on the opening day of the tournament and adds a rest day,
