Blake Griffin LA Clippers

Cavaliers & Lakers Highlight Clippers Top Tickets In January

For the first two weeks of January, the Clippers are playing at home. They won’t have to leave Los Angeles starting from Christmas, when they host the Warriors, and play 9 games at home from there on. That will be a great chance for the team to pile up some wins, and rise up in the rankings. They have small chance to win the division and catch the Warriors, but this was supposed to be the year they are legitimate title contender. The Clippers showed flashes of their potential during a long winning streak in late November – early December, but then lost few games. One thing is certain, their pick and roll offense with CP3 and Blake Griffin is deadly, but the problem are role players, and their lack of true small forward.

Clippers vs Sixers, January 3, Starting price $16, Average price $49

The chance to rack up wins starts with the first game of 2015, when the Clippers host the lowly Sixers. There is no worse team than Philadelphia for the past two seasons. However, the Sixers have scared few teams here and there, and even pushed Memphis to OT once. Michael Carter Williams is playing better and better, and his duel with CP3 is bound to bring entertainment.

Clippers vs Hawks, January 5, Starting price $12, Average price $63

Both teams are playing good, unselfish basketball at the moment. There are few direct matchups worth watching, such as Teague vs Paul, Griffin vs Millsap, and even how will Deandre Jordan handle Al Horford. With both teams pushing the tempo, this one might turn into a highlight reel.

Clippers vs Lakers, January 7, Starting price $60, Average price $163

The Clippers won the first matchup, but it was a close game. Every time the teams meet, history and fate haunts them. CP3 could have been a Lakers player if it wasn’t for Donald Sterling. Now, he has transformed the Clippers into a championship contender, while the Lakers are headed for the lottery. There was a time the Lakers were the talk of the city, but things have changed.

Clippers vs Mavericks, January 10, Starting price $26, Average price $72

The West is so crowded, that games like this might decide whether a team ranks in the top 4 or not. While there is a notion that positioning is not much important in the West, since teams 1-8 are legitimate contenders, having home court advantage helps. Both the Mavs and the Clippers are bound for the playoffs, but their positioning is unknown. .

Clippers vs Heat, January 11, Starting price $30, Average price $147

The last game of the home streak for the Clippers is a second night of a back to back set and the visitors are the Miami Heat. No longer a championship contender, the Heat are a dangerous team nevertheless. Griffin has increased his midrange game, and expanded his range, just like Chris Bosh did few years ago. Now, two players that were bangers in the post shoot mid-range jumpers and 3s. But Griffin still dunks, and Bosh might find himself on the opposite side of a poster.

Clippers vs Cavaliers, January 16, Starting price $118, Average price $133

Kyrie Irving is becoming one of the best point guards in the league, a scary thought for teams other than the Cavs. With LeBron there to guide him, Irving can take his game to a level that few can imagine, maybe even greater than CP3. For the time being, Chris Paul is the best point guard in the league. But the Clippers might have problems in this game, given their lack of small forward. James might have a layup fest if there is no one to check him. Matt Barnes sure is not that player anymore.

Clippers vs Celtics, January 19, Starting price $20, Average price $70

In terms of controlling the tempo, passing and defense, Rajon Rondo and CP3 are very close. They are true floor generals, and point guards in the rightful sense. Which one will manage to prevail and assert his dominance is left to be seen. But Rondo is known to get extra motivation when going against players such as Paul.

Clippers vs Nets, January 22, Starting price $17, Average price $103

Whether this will be a Deron Williams vs CP3 duel is left to be seen. The Nets have placed their entire roster on the trading block. The team is in a mess, and the Clippers would be wise to take full advantage of the situation.

Clippers vs Nuggets, January 26, Starting price $14, Average price $55
The Nuggets are the Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde of the season. They go on a winning streak, then on a losing streak in a matter of days. They play inspiring basketball, then the next few games, they look like they are waiting for the summer. Depending on which team shows up, this might be extremely entertaining duel between CP3 and Lawson, and Faried and Griffin. Or, the Clippers might roll over the Nuggets.

Clippers vs Timberwolves, December 1, Starting price $6, Average price $45
The Timberwolves are a young team, and this will be the first time the first round pick Andrew Wiggins comes to town. He might not be ready for stardom, and is still a work in progress, but the kid shows flashes from time to time about how great he can be. The duel could be a lot more fun if Rubio wasn’t injured, but there is still enormous potential for an exciting game. Minnesota is a lottery team, but the guys play hard, they compete for 48 minutes, and provide a highlight or two. Clippers vs Timberwolves tickets are still available.

Clippers vs Magic, December 3, Starting Price $7, Average price $48
Tobias Harris, Nikola Vucevic, Victor Oladipo and Elfrid Payton are a young core that can do some serious damage in the next 2-3 years. For now, Vucevic is the only proven player from the group. The Serbian center can go for 20 and 20 at any given night, and the Clippers must contain him in order to win. Deandre Jordan will have his hands full, but he might serve a poster for Vucevic. You can purchase Clippers vs Magic tickets for the Staples Center.

Clippers vs Pelicans, December 6, Starting Price $18, Average price $50
Blake Griffin versus Anthony Davis! Can the casual fan ask for more? Probably not. Two of the best power forwards in the league go head to head in a matchup that should provide enough entertainment and highlights. Davis is arguably the MVP of the first month, and if he continues his strong play, and the Pelicans make the playoffs, there is no reason he should not win it. The Pelicans will visit the Clippers once more this season, but at the moment, both teams are at full strength and playing good basketball. Purchase Clippers vs Pelicans tickets.

Clippers vs Suns, December 8, Starting price $7, Average Price $73
Two seasons ago, Eric Bledsoe was backing up Chris Paul. Now he is running his show in Phoenix, where Coach Jeff Hornacek has the Suns playing hard and at a fast pace. Besides Bledsoe, the Suns have two more point guards that can cause damage in Dragic and Thomas. But none of them comes close to the level of CP3 and his playmaking and shot making abilities. And the Suns frontline is weak compared to the big guys the Clippers boast. The Clippers already beat the Suns on 15th November. Order Clippers vs Suns tickets today.

Clippers vs Pistons, December 15, Starting Price $10, Average Price $62
Few teams can match the frontline of the Clippers, and the Pistons are one of them. Their record doesn’t reflect their talent, but Andre Drummond is a beast, and Greg Monroe is one of the best copies of Tim Duncan and his sound and fundamental post game. The Pistons are still figuring things out, but they can be dangerous. And they are the Eastern Conference team leader in alley-oops with Drummond reaching for every ball that comes close to the basket.Order Clippers vs Pistons tickets today.

Clippers vs Pacers, December 17, Starting price $6, Average Price $80
Even without Paul George and Lance Stephenson, Indiana has managed to hang in the top 8 in the East. After a few games, the team is playing motivated and engaged. The Pacers already have some quality wins (versus Dallas, Miami and Chicago), and there is no reason to doubt they will bring their A game. Roy Hibbert and David West are a good inside duo, posing challenges for Griffin and Jordan. CP3 might have his way with the point guards of Indiana, but he will need help to carry the Clippers in this one. Order Clippers vs Pacers tickets today.

Clippers vs Bucks, December 20, Starting price $23, Average price $39
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a reason enough to tune into this game. The Greek Freak is playing excellent basketball at the moment. Coach Jason Kidd has his team playing inspiring basketball, and his players give their all. Few people had the Bucks at No.4 in the East going into December, but the Bucks are going back to their “Fear the Deer” campaign. They are a dangerous team, and rookie Jabari Parker is playing better by the day. Order Clippers vs Bucks tickets today.

Clippers vs Warriors, December 25, Starting Price $72, Average Price $104
These two teams have a long history in the past few years. Every matchup brings tension as a playoff game, and players from both teams have admitted they do not like each other. They’ve met in the 2014 playoffs, with the Clippers advancing. But this year, with Steve Kerr on the coaching seat, the Warriors are playing even more efficient basketball with more ball movement. The Splash Brothers are killing it, and Curry is a time bomb waiting to happen. The Warriors are second in the Western Conference, just a half game behind Memphis going into December. Not to mention, a Christmas matchup is always a special one. Order Clippers vs Warriors tickets for their Christmas Day game at Staples Center today.

Clippers vs Raptors, December 27, Starting Price $37, Average Price $75
The Raptors have been arguably the best team in the league over the first month. They lost to the Western leading Grizzlies to close out November, but they are still the best in the East. Nobody expected them to be this good, but they are proving experts wrong. Fresh off an extension, Kyle Lowry has matured into a great leader at the point guard position. While many see the highlights from Demar Derozan and Terrence Ross, Lowry is the machine that carries the Raptors. A matchup with CP3 is a great chance for Lowry to show his worth. Purchase Clippers vs Raptors Tickets today.

Clippers vs Jazz, December 29, Starting Price $27, Average Price $59
After wining some games to start the season, the Jazz are back where they belong, in the lottery. They should stay there for a season or two more, but they have solid young guys that can be dangerous. Gordon Hayward is one of them, and this season, the Clippers are having troubles with small forwards. Hayward has proven he is worth the money Utah put in him, and he might go off versus the Clippers. The team from Los Angeles won the first meeting between the teams. Purchase Clippers vs Jazz tickets today.

Clippers vs Knicks, December 31, Starting Price $40, Average Price $160
There are few things that are more entertaining on New Year’s Eve than a matchup between the Clippers and the Knicks. Fate didn’t let Carmelo and CP3 to play together, so they must compete against each other. The Knicks are still adjusting to the triangle, and Melo is having back issues, but he should be healthy for the game. Clippers vs Knicks tickets are available for all sections of the Staples Center.

Lakers Game at LA Staples Center

Lakers December To Remember

The Lakers ended their 4-10 November record on a high note with a 129-122 victory over the Toronto Raptors, Kobe Bryant getting his 6,000 assist as well as a triple double becoming the first NBA player in history to score 30,000 points and 6,000 assists. The December Lakers Schedule will feature two of the best teams in the West as the Thunder and Warriors will be coming to the Staples Center.

Lakers vs Pelicans December 7, Average ticket price – $54
The Pelicans who are 7-8 won the first time the teams meet, but that was in New Orleans. Anthony Davis is playing on an MVP level this year, leading the league at PER (34 at the moment), and this is his first visit to the Staples Center this year. Davis and the Pelicans will come for a visit again in April. The December game is his chance to shine on one of the brightest stages in the NBA. Lakers vs Pelicans tickets start at $25.00 per ticket.

Lakers vs Kings, December 9, Average price – $80
More than half of the experts in the league expected the Kings to be a lottery bound team. However, a month into the season, and the Kings are just half a game out of the playoff picture, with a realistic shot to make the playoffs this season. Demarcus Cousins is the second best big man in the league at the moment, trailing only Anthony Davis. Fans at the Staples have a chance to see two of the best big man in the league in a span of just few days. Lakers vs Kings Tickets start at $26.00 per ticket.

Lakers vs Thunder, December 19, Average Price $127
By the time the Thunder came into town, Kevin Durant might be healthy. Even if he is not ready to go, hometown Russell Westbrook is healthy, and in his first game back from injury, Westbrook exploded versus the Knicks. The Thunder are one of the most exciting teams to watch, and they have a little history with the Lakers. Someone is going to have a big night, be it Westbrook, Durant or Kobe. Lakers vs Thunder tickets start at $62.00 per ticket.

Lakers vs Warriors, December 23, Average Price $140
Steph Curry schooled Bryant during a preseason game, and he got tap on the shoulder from the Black Mamba. This game has the potential to be a high scoring game, or a shooting matchup. With the Splash Brothers on one side, and Kobe competitiveness on the other, fans are the real winners. Kobe doesn’t forget easily, and he might go directly at the Splash Brothers and challenge them as much as possible. Lakers vs Warriors tickets start at $58.00 per ticket.

Lakers vs Suns, December 28, Average Price $90
Another show time team comes into town just before the New Year’s Eve. Phoenix is currently ranked 8th in the West, a spot Lakers hoped to occupy at the start of the season. With a three guard lineup, the Suns are fun and exciting, and they play at a fast pace. Thanks to Gerald Green, every game provides at least 2 highlights. Not that the Lakers play slow, they also like to push the pace. And as much as Gerald Green can do, Wesley Johnson can also provide few highlights here and there. Lakers vs Suns tickets start at $47.00 per ticket.

Lakers Games of the week (11/26/14 – 11/30/14)

After a rough start to the season the Los Angeles Lakers are showing signs of life with the return of Nick Young. Following a four-game losing streak the Lakers went on the road this past week and won consecutive games at Atlanta and Houston. After a disappointing blowout loss in Dallas the Lakers returned home and took the Denver Nuggets to overtime, only to lose in the extra period.

The Lakers have three big home games this week with visits from Memphis, Minnesota and Toronto. The games versus the Memphis Grizzlies on November 26th and Toronto Raptors on Novemeber 30th will be a massive test for the Lakers. The two clubs lead the Western and Eastern Conferences, with just four combined losses. In between the Memphis and Toronto games is a Friday night visit from the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 28th, who feature this year’s top overall draft pick, Andrew Wiggins. Wednesday night the Lakers will need a big performance from their interior players to match up with an imposing Memphis team, led by early season MVP candidate Marc Gasol. The big Spaniard, a former Defensive Player of the Year winner, has taken his game to the next level this season. He’s a versatile player with the ability to both score and be a dangerous passer from the high post. After the Memphis and Minnesota games is a big Sunday game versus the Toronto Raptors. While much of the attention in the Eastern Conference has been centered on the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Raptors have quietly put together a dominant early season, outscoring their opponents by over eleven points per game.

Top Reason You Must Visit Staples Center

Clippers floor changed to Kings Ice Rink

How does the Staples Center switch from a basketball court to hockey rink?

Ever wondered how the Staples Center floor goes from a Basketball Court to a Hockey Rink on the same day?

The Los Angeles Staples Center is one of a handful of arena’s around the country that not only has a professional basketball team and a professional hockey team they have two professional basketball teams the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers so scheduling both NBA teams as well as the Los Angeles Kings during the October through June games at the Staples Center is a tough job. Dont forget to through in all of the concerts and theatrical type events that go on as well during those months.

On any given weekend and sometimes weekdays there can be an early basketball or hockey game usually at 12:30pm pst and then a hockey or basketball game at 7:00pm pst.

Given a NBA game can last about 2 hours and 30 minutes and the average NHL game lasts about 2 hours 20 minutes that doesnt leave much time.

The typical temperature inside the Staples Center for a Lakers or Clippers game is 75 degrees and 65 degrees for a LA Kings game.

As either the Hockey or Basketball game ends the crew is already in place to get the changes done as quickly as possible. The 83 actual sections as well as over 168 luxury suites need to be cleaned, as well as all other areas inside the Staples Center including all bathrooms, the Hyde Lounge, the Premiere Club and Levy Restaurant and more. The Pro Shop needs to switch out the team playing inventory to the team playing that night’s inventory and numerous other little changes that are done to perfection the only way the Los Angeles Staples Center crew can do it.

If its an early basketball game once the players exit the court and as the crowd is leaving the entire arena starts to get cleaned, the Maple Wood Court floor is removed piece by piece, ad’s are replaced, the courtside seats as well as the the scores table are removed.

The Staples Center team lowers hydraulic seats onto the floor and all non stationary seats are removed from the floor. The main reason that the transfer between a basketball court and a hockey rink can happen so quickly is….the Hockey Rink is always there the basketball court is just overlay-ed on top of it. The crew removes the overlay sheets and rewires everything needed for a Hockey game. Since the frozen ice rink is already in place they corner dasherboards are replaced and the Plexiglas is placed on the dasherboards as well as cleaned. Then the ice itself is cleaned by the Zamboni.

The conversion from basketball court to ice rink or the other way around is a well oiled machine and having two storage area’s inside the Staples Center helps speed up the entire process since all running machines as well as furniture and everything else used for either event can enter the floor from one passage way and leave from another.

Kings Vs Rangers Stanley Cup Preview

Kings Vs Rangers Tickets

KINGS VS RANGERS

After defeating the Chicago Blackhawks in one of the entertaining Western Conference Finals in years, the Los Angeles Kings have advanced to their second Stanley Cup Finals in three seasons. The Kings will face the New York Rangers, who upset the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round and then defeated Montreal to reach their first Stanley Cup Final in twenty years. By virtue of a better regular season record the Kings will have home ice advantage, hosting the opening game at STAPLES Center on Wednesday night. Here are some key factors to watch in this year’s Stanley Cup Finals:

The Doughty Factor: While Ryan McDonaugh of the Rangers has put himself in the conversation of the top defenders in hockey, the most dominant defenseman in this year’s playoffs is Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings. Doughty was the top defenseman in this year’s Sochi Olympic Games, winning a gold medal for Canada, and he’ll have an opportunity to pull off the Gold Medal/Stanley Cup title if the Kings can defeat the Rangers. Doughty is a leading candidate for this year’s Conn Smythe Award as the top playoff performer. A true two-way star, Doughty can dominate a game both offensively and defensively. Like all great players, he’s known for scoring big goals at critical times. In 21 postseason games, Doughty has 16 points. Doughty has formed a winning combination with second-year player Jake Muzzin.

King Henrik: It’s unusual for Jonathan Quick to be seen as the lesser goalie in a playoff series, but that’s the case in this year’s finals. While Quick has played well overall in this year’s playoffs, he’s had his ups and downs at times, including several stretches of rough play versus the Blackhawks. While Quick’s overall numbers don’t compare to his epic stats in the Kings 2012 title run, he’s helped the team go 7-0 in elimination games this playoffs. Quick opposite number, Henrik Lundqvist, has added to his legend with an outstanding playoff performance thus far. In twenty games this postseason Lundqvist has a 2.03 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. Like he has his entire career, Lundqvist has been a dominant force in net. The Kings will have the firepower advantage in the series, but Lundqvist can be the great equalizer, with the ability to steal games. If Quick can match the Rangers goalie shot for shot the Kings will be in good shape.

Kings Vs Rangers Tickets

KINGS VS RANGERS

Home Ice Advantage: The Kings will have the rare luxury of home ice advantage versus the Rangers, something they didn’t have during their 2012 run or during this year’s run. While they haven’t been dominant at STAPLES Center at times, witness two losses versus Anaheim in the second round and a loss to Chicago in game six, the Kings will have the advantage of a boisterous home crowd to set the tone. The Kings home ice advantage may offset the additional amount of rest the Rangers have after eliminating Montreal in six games. When New York visits the STAPLES Center on Wednesday they will have had three extra rest. Of course additional rest doesn’t necessarily translate to quick starts. If Los Angeles can start quick and win two at home they’ll be in a good position to shorten the series with a win in New York in game three.

Marian Gaborik: While the rest of the Kings team struggled at times in the opening round versus San Jose and the first few games versus Anaheim, the Kings were receiving a dominant performance from veteran Marian Gaborik who they acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets at the trade deadline. Gaborik spent a handful of years in New York as a Ranger before he was dealt to Columbus as part of the Rick Nash trade. The finals will give Gaborik a chance to win his first cup, while exacting some revenge on his former team. Gaborik has formed a dynamic partnership with Anze Kopitar this postseason. Kopitar, Jeff Carter and Gaborik are three of the top four scorers in this years postseason, indicative of just how dominant the Kings offense has been at times.

So who wins? The Kings have shown an extraordinary amount of mental toughness in overcoming deficits to win all three series, with game seven victories on the road in all three games. Offensively they’ve had an extra gear this postseason, becoming a truly dynamic offense. Los Angeles has an advantage over the Rangers in every facet of the game other than goaltending. While Henrik Lundqvist has an advantage in goal, Jonathan Quick can dominate games when playing up to his potential. The Rangers have made a nice run, but it’s been in the weaker Eastern Conference. Their victory over Montreal in the Eastern finals was helped greatly by the Carey Price injury. The Kings are simply the better team.

Kings take game four against Blackhawks

LA Kings Vs Blackhawks

KINGS 5 HAWKS 2

After another dominating victory the Los Angeles Kings are now on the brink of another visit to the Stanley Cup Finals, their second in three seasons. Behind a three-goal first period barrage the Kings jumped on top of the Chicago Blackhawks early and never looked back, winning 5-2. For nearly two seasons the Blackhawks, and goalie Corey Crawford, had the Kings number defensively. In three straight impressive victories the Kings have turned it all around, scoring fifteen goals in the past three games for a commanding lead. With the series returning to Chicago for a game five, the Kings will now have three opportunities to eliminate Chicago.

Monday’s win was another impressive display off both offensive and defensive hockey. The Kings, known for their defense, have become the top scoring team in the playoffs, while still playing efficient and effective defense behind a veteran unit of blue-liners and goaltender Jonathan Quick. Jake Muzzin, Marian Gaborik and Dustin Brown all scored in a six-minute stretch of the first period, giving Los Angeles a 3-0 lead and eventual victory. Drew Doughty and Tanner Pearson would also add score in the second and third periods as the Kings preserved their three goal lead. After largely getting the balance of their offense from the Kopitar and Gaborik line in the opening round against the San Jose Sharks, the Kings have become a balanced offensive juggernaut versus Chicago, with offense coming from nearly every line and the defense. Los Angeles now has eight players with double figures in points this postseason. Goaltender Jonathan Quick made 22 saves in the victory.

The Kings offensive barrage is particularly surprising since they were the lowest scoring team to make the postseason. After trailing 2-0 late in game two in Chicago, the Kings have scored 13 goals in just over 100 minutes of hockey, a dominating performance that has the Chicago Blackhawks looking for answers. In accomplishing this offensive outburst the Kings now may have the mental edge on Crawford, a player who’s consistently stymied them in recent seasons. Crawford stopped just sixteen shots in the loss.

Blackhawks Vs LA Kings

CRAWFORD

The Blackhawks will now have to fight their way back from a 3-1 deficit, something they accomplished last season versus the Detroit Red Wings. Coming from behind two games will be a tall task versus a confident Kings team. Last year’s Blackhawks and Red Wings matchup was an opening round one versus eight affair, not a Western Conference Finals. In order to beat the Kings the Blackhawks will need to find some confidence on defense, something that has seemingly evaporated as they’ve been outscored 15-7 over the last three games. Chicago will also need offense from Patrick Kane, who’s managed just one point in the series. Kane’s struggles have been mirrored by Bryan Bickell, a hero in last year’s postseason who had a sub-standard regular season and has struggled this series, with only a goal on Monday night.

Game five is Wednesday night in Chicago at the United Center.

Preview LA Kings Vs Blackhawks Western Conference Finals

Kings Vs Blackhawks Tickets

KINGS Vs HAWKS

In the first two rounds of the playoffs the Los Angeles Kings have successfully fended off six elimination games. After trailing 3-0 to the San Jose Sharks in the opening round the Kings roared back two win four straight, including the clincher on Sharks home ice. In round two the Kings overcame a 3-2 series deficit to defeat the Anaheim Ducks, again clinching on the road. In defeating the Ducks the Kings once again proved their resiliency and championship pedigree. The defeat of Anaheim sets up a rematch of last season’s Western Conference finals with the Chicago Blackhawks. A year ago the Blackhawks defeated the Kings 4-1 on the way to their second Stanley Cup championship in three seasons. The Kings and Blackhawks together have won three of the last four NHL titles. With Boston and Pittsburgh eliminated in the Easter Conference, the winner of the Western Conference will be the heavy favorite to take home the cup.

Here are five things to watch in the upcoming Kings and Blackhawks matchup:

Kings Vs Blackhawks

CRAWFORD Vs QUICK

The Battle between the Pipes: Good goaltending wins Stanley Cups and both the Kings and Blackhawks have elite goaltenders in Jonathan Quick and Corey Crawford, the winning goalies on each of the last two Stanley Cup winners. Jonathan Quick has been dominant at times this postseason but he’s also struggled at times. Los Angeles will need the dominant Quick throughout the series. He’s one of the rare goaltenders that can steal a postseason game. If he can avoid a rough stretch, like in the opening round versus San Jose, the Kings will be in good shape.

Recent History: Chicago has won nine of the past eleven meetings between the two clubs, including the 4-1 defeat in last year’s playoffs. The Blackhawks also dominated this year’s season series, going 3-0-1 versus Los Angeles this year. History is clearly not on the side of the Kings, but it wasn’t on their side when they came back versus the Sharks in the opening round. Chicago will enter the Western Conference final on four days rest while the Kings will have just a day of rest. The lack of rest may be a benefit for the Kings who having the confidence of a dominant victory over the Ducks in game seven.

The Gaborik Factor: Marian Gaborik has added an extra element to the Kings attack this season, with nine goals thus far in the playoffs. He’s built a dynamic partnership with Anze Kopitar. Gaborik and Kopitar are the two leading scorers this NHL postseason, with a total of 34 points between them. In a postseason where Mike Richards and Jeff Carter have struggled to score goals, the Kopitar and Gaborik have given them a dynamic additional element.

LA Kings Staples Center

STAPLES CENTER

Defend home ice: The Kings have shown the ability to win on the road in the playoffs, winning five combined road games in the opening two rounds. Unfortunately they’ve also shown a propensity to not win on home ice. Los Angeles is 5-3 away from STAPLES Center, but just 3-3 at STAPLES Center, including two losses at home versus Anaheim in the second round. To defeat the Blackhawks the Kings will have to steal a game at United Center, while defending their home ice. The key is coming out with the urgency they’ve shown in road elimination games versus San Jose and Anaheim.

Production from the Kings Youth: Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli are two impressive young players who’ve made a great impact during the postseason. Like Gaborik, Pearson and Toffoli give the Kings some added speed and quickness. The Western Conference finals versus Chicago are a big spot for a young player to perform in. If the Kings young talented forwards can produce they might be a big factor in the Kings success.
