2016 NBA Playoffs Six Teams To Watch

2016 NBA Playoffs Six Teams To Watch

With one more month until the 2016 NBA playoffs start, the race in both the East and West is as close as ever. The 8th and the 9th seed in the East are separated by half a game, with the 6th seed also only two games in front of 9th seed. In the West, the difference between the 8th and 9th seed is only two games, making the stretch run extremely interesting. Here are six teams that should become more and more interesting as the 2016 NBA playoffs approach.

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons went all in at the trade deadline, getting Tobias Harris from Orlando Magic to form a “mini Big-Three” with Drummond, Reggie Jackson and Harris. And while some people expected quick results, in reality, Detroit is playing 50% basketball since the trade. But that might be a good thing. The good news for the Pistons is they have only 7 more games on the road. But the bad news is they have lots of games against direct competition, starting with two games against the Wizards, a game against Chicago, two against the Hornets, and then some against higher tier Eastern teams: 2 against Atlanta, 2 against Miami, and one against Cleveland. The Wizards game are extremely important, since Washington leads the season series 2:0, and one more win will ensure the Wizards the tiebreaker. Detroit Pistons tickets for the 2016 NBA playoffs games start at just $35.00 per ticket.

Washington Wizards

Speaking of the Wizards, they are 2 and a half games outside of the playoff picture, but they can make up ground by beating the Pistons. Detroit is not in the playoffs, but they are just half a game behind Chicago for the 8th spot. The biggest challenge for the Wizards will be the Atlanta Hawks, as they have three more games against the 5th best team in the East at the moment. The good news, however, is they have several games against bottom feeders left: 2 against the Nets, 1 versus Phoenix, one versus Lakers, one versus Knicks, and one versus Sixers. Get Washington Wizards tickets for their 2016 NBA playoff games today.

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls got Jimmy Butler back, but it might be too late. Sitting at the 8th spot, with just half a game lead is not something that Chicago envisioned at any point during the season. The Bulls were supposed to fight with Cleveland for East supremacy, but that hasn’t happened yet. And it doesn’t get easier down the road with only 8 home games left. Opponent wise, the Bulls have one more game against the Cavs, one against the Raptors, two versus the Heat, one with the Pistons, one with Indiana, one with San Antonio and one with Washington. The silver lining is that the Bulls will decide their own fate, with games against direct opponents like Washington, Indiana, and Detroit. Chicago Bulls schedule for their 2016 NBA Playoffs games at the United Center start at just $85.00 per ticket.

Portland Trail Blazers

Let’s start from the good news. The Blazers are currently at the 6th spot in the West, despite losing every player of their starting lineup from last season not named Damian Lillard. They have no chance of getting the 5th spot, but staying at 6 is very plausible scenario. Now, for the bad news. Take a look at their schedule: 2 more versus Golden State, 2 more versus OKC, one versus San Antonio, one versus Clippers. That is six games against the top 4 teams in the West. And to top it that, they have 2 more games against Dallas, a team that is just half a game behind them in the standings. The Blazers will likely make the playoffs, but staying at 6th spot gives them a chance against an OKC team that doesn’t look as scary as the Warriors and Spurs. Portland Trail Blazers tickets for the 2016 NBA Playoffs begin at just $25.00 per ticket.

Top 5 Portland Trail Blazers Games in January

Clippers at Blazers, January 6
Tickets Start at $18.00
The Clippers and the Blazers have played two times this season, and each time, the home team got the win. Portland will be hoping that the tradition continues, as the team could use some boost in the beginning of 2016 to get back to the wining days. The Chris Paul versus Damian Lillard match up might get all the headlines, but the Blazers also have some talented young big men that can challenge the likes of Griffin and Jordan in the paint. Great deals on Blazers Clippers tickets at the Moda Center.

Warriors at Blazers, January 8
Tickets Start at $103.00
For the young back court of Damian Lillard and C.J.McCollum, there is no better and bigger challenge than going against the Splash Brothers. Lillard recently said that he and McCollum have the potential of being the best back court in the league in few years, as the both are very similar in their play and understand how to play with each other. They are still young, but they can definitely get the best out of Steph and Klay. The problem is, the other part of the Blazers team is not much up to the level of the Warriors. But can Lillard and McCollum carry them? We will find out! This will be the first time they meet this season. See the Warriors Blazers game at the Moda Center.

Thunder at Blazers, January 10
Tickets Start at $40.00
The good news for the Blazers in 2016? The play most of the games in the first 10 days at home. The bad news, however, is that all of the teams coming to Portland are playoff and even championship bound. The Blazers will host the Thunder just two days after welcoming Steph Curry and the Warriors. But the tough get going during rough times, and Lillard and company definitely want to show they are good enough to compete with the best out there. The Thunder won the first matchup between these two division rivals when they played in Oklahoma City. It is time for revenge! Get Thunder Blazers Tickets today!

Jazz at Blazers, January 13
Tickets Start at $13.00
After hosting some heavy weights like Memphis, Clippers, Warriors and Thunder, the Blazers homestead continues with the Utah Jazz, a team that is close to them in the rankings. The Jazz are also a division rival (not that the Blazers have some chance for a division title this year), and the Blazers have always performed well against teams from the same division. The Jazz might come hungry for revenge, as the Blazers won the first game between the two played in Utah. Jazz at the Blazers tickets are available now.

Blazers at Wizards, January 18
Tickets Start at $10.00
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are the best duo in the back court, but John Wall and Bradley Beal are pretty close. Washington is slowly getting back to the winning ways with Wall carrying the load, but the Blazers will hope that their young back court duo of Lillard and McCollum will get the best out of them. The match up will be the first time this season the two meet. Catch the Wizards Trail Blazers game at the Verizon Center in Washington DC.

Trail Blazers Offseason is there a plan B?

For the Portland Trail Blazers offseason, Plan A is to resign Lamarcus Aldridge and then go from there to improve the other positions. However, what happens if Lamarcus Aldridge leaves Portland? Do the Blazers have Plan B? Can they afford to sign other big name players?

Let’s take a look at the Trail Blazers Offseason Situation.

The Cap Space

If Lamarcus Aldridge walks in the Trail Blazers offseason, the Blazers will have around $40 million tied up in cap space. That is assuming they haven’t resigned Wesley Matthews or Robyn Lopez. The $40 million are calculated with the contracts and salary of new players that they acquired: Gerald Henderson and Mason Plumlee. The good news is that Plumlee is still playing on a rookie contract, and the Blazers have a team option for the next two seasons. That makes him extremely cheap and valuable player. Assuming that the cap will be set at somewhere around $67 million or $70 million, the Trail Blazers could have around $30 million in cap space.

A Big Man alternative

If Lamarcus Aldridge walks, and Blazers do not resign their free agents, they will need a replacement for center/power forward since Plumlee can play either position, and small forward. For the Blazers, signing a big man is the priority. The Trail Blazers can go two ways here. The first option is to go for a big name free agent like DeAndre Jordan, someone who has been linked with the Blazers for some time, or sign a cheaper alternative, and pursue a big name small forward. A smart GM, like Neil Olshey is, can probably see that there are number of big men on the market, including Atlanta Hawks Paul Millsap, Brooklyn Nets Brook Lopez, Greg Monroe, Tyson Chandler, Josh Smith, David West, Brandan Wright, Amare, Carlos Boozer, Omer Asik and much more. However, the pool for small forwards and perimeter players is smaller. Therefore, expect the Blazers to pursue a second tier big man if Aldridge leaves during the Trail Blazers offseason, someone like the Pelcians Omer Asik, Indiana Pacers David West or the Dallas Mavericks Tyson Chandler.

The Wing Position

The biggest problem for the Blazers the past season was Batum was not playing at an All Star level. The Blazers need a wing that can complement Damian Lillard, or someone who can shoot the 3 and defend. There are two free agents that fit that description perfectly. The first one is DeMarre Carroll, who is an unrestricted free agent, and Tobias Harris, a restricted free agent. They probably won’t get in the Jimmy Butler/Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes during the Trail Blazers offseason, but they can take a look at Carroll and Harris.

What if Aldridge resigns?

The question is a valid one, since if Aldridge resigns with the Blazers, the team will have to improve. If Aldridge resigns for the max, his contract for next season will start somewhere between $18 and $20 million. That will leave around $10 million in cap space for the Blazers, a money they must use to sign a replacement for Batum at least and play Plumlee at center. In that case, the Blazers will have to look at players like Danny Green, Gerald Green, Boston Celtics Jae Crowder, Loul Deng and Houston Rockets Corey Brewer. All these players can command somewhere between $6 and $10 million per year.

The Portland Trail Blazers finished last season with a record of 51-31, 1st in NBA Western Conference Northwest Division. LaMarus Aldridge went into the Trail Blazers offseason ranked 7th in NBA players having played 71 games during the season, averaging 35.4 minutes a game with 23.4 points per game average.

LA Clippers March Schedule

Los Angeles Clippers March Schedule 2015

The good news is the Clippers play Minnesota twice in March, and they also play Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Sacramento, all easy winnable games for a playoff team that has aspirations for a title. The bad news is the Clippers play the Warriors twice, Chicago, Washington, Portland, Dallas, Oklahoma, and Houston among others. To put it simply, March will be a challenging month for the Clippers as they try to stabilize their position in the Western rankings. Blake Griffin should be back for half of the games played in March, and the Clippers will have to manage without him for a while. If they win the easy games, and win half of the hard ones versus direct rivals for higher seed, the Clippers might make it up to the 3rd or 4th spot in the West, both of which bring home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

So let’s break down Clippers March Schedule.

Blazers @ Clippers Staples Center March 4th.
Starting price $13 | Average price $65
It is good that the Clippers have beaten the Trail Blazers twice this season, once at home and once on the road. However, for this game, they will have to do it without Griffin, who is scheduled for a comeback somewhere in the middle of March. If they win, the Clippers will make sure they have the tiebreaker with Portland.

Warriors @ Clippers Staples Center March 8th
Starting price $110.00 | Average price $203.00
The home team has won each of the previous two duels, and neither of them was close. The Clippers would love to continue the tradition, at least for this game. The good news is they will have four full days of rest between the Portland and the Golden State Warriors game. If they lose the first game, they will get enough rest to prepare themselves for a battle with the best team in the West. Curry versus CP3 should be a delight to watch. The teams will also play at the end of the month in Oakland.

Clippers @ Thunder Chesapeake Arena March 11th.
Starting price $32 | Average price $122
Last year the Thunder eliminated the Clippers from the playoffs. This year, the first time the Clippers were in town, the Thunder won 131 – 108. Notice a pattern? The Clippers have a hard time winning in Oklahoma City. The Thunder are trying hard to get to the playoffs and secure the 8th seed, and they will show no mercy to teams above them in the rankings.View Tickets

Clippers @ Mavericks American Airlines Center March 13th.
Starting price $38 | Average price $72
The middle of the month is probably the hardest for the Clippers schedule wise. After visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Clippers play in Dallas. They’ve beaten the Mavs in the two games they’ve played this season, but that is even more reasons for them to be prepared, as the Mavs will look to retaliate. View Tickets

Rockets @ Clippers Staples Center March 15th
Starting price $21 | Average price $78
Luckily for the Clippers, for the third hard game in a row they play at home. The Rockets are another team the Clippers have beaten twice this season. The Clippers actually play good versus other Western playoff contenders. Their problem is they lose winnable games versus lower opponents.

Dallas Mavericks March Schedule

Dallas Mavericks March Schedule

The difference between the third spot and the seventh spot in the West is 2.5 games. Which means, a losing streak here, and a winning streak there can be the difference between home court advantage and playing on the road. There is no easy opponent, as every team in the West is a legit title contender. Truth be told, matchups will decide, as some teams matchup better with others. But for every team, getting home court at least in the first round is important. This includes Dallas as well. Mavericks March Schedule is packed with games versus other playoff teams from the West, making the month hard to “survive”. Here is a breakdown of Mavericks March Schedule.

The Dallas Mavericks rank third in attendance for home games at the American Airlines Center with an average of 20,102 (-0.37%) a game. On the road they average 17,509 (-0.61%) according to ESPN. In January 2015 the average Dallas Mavericks ticket price was $76.00 per ticket. Heading into the Dallas Mavericks March schedule the average ticket price is $73.00 (-3.94%) from January.

Dallas is currently ranked 5 in the Western Conference eight games behind the Golden State Warriors. With some big games coming up on the Dallas Mavericks March Schedule its due or die time to get into position for the NBA playoffs.

Top 5 games coming up for the Mavericks March Schedule.

Mavericks @ Blazers Moda Center, March 5th
Starting price $24 | Average price $64
The first week of March will be a hard one for the Mavs, as they have a tough back to back set to play. Their first opponent during the set is the Trail Blazers, a team they’ve split the first two games with. But in the game in Portland, the Mavs and their top offense was held to just 87 points. If they want to win, the Mavericks will have to find a way to beat Portland’s great defense. View Tickets

Mavericks @ Warriors Oracle Arena, March 6,
Starting price $73 | Average price $112
The Mavs have a problem with quality Western conference teams this season. They have a losing record with almost any other playoff team in the West. And they have yet to beat the Warriors. Golden State is 2-0 versus the Mavs this year. One of the games was close, but the second one was a rout. View Tickets

Cavaliers @ Mavericks, American Airlines Center, March 10th
Starting price $62 | Average price $81
This will be LeBron James lone visit to Dallas this season. The Mavs beat the Cavaliers in Cleveland, but that game is long forgotten. The game was back when LeBron James was resting, and the Cavs hadn’t started their winning streak. The team that will come in Dallas in March will be a lot different than the one they played in January.View Tickets

Clippers @ Mavericks, American Airlines Center, March 13,
Starting price $38 | Average price $72
The Clippers beat the Mavs two times this season. The possibility of a first round matchup looms, as the teams might finish as the 4th and 5th seed in the West. It is always positive for the moral and the confidence of the team to beat their playoff opponent at least once during the regular season. The Clippers are also direct rival for a higher seed. View Tickets

Mavericks @ Spurs, AT&T Center March 27
Starting price $57 | Average price $89
The teams will play home and home games on March 24 and 27, with no games in between. Their first two duels were decided by 5 points or less, and in both games, the home team won. Dallas hasn’t won in San Antonio in a while, and this will be their last chance this season. The Mavs and the Spurs might meet only in the second round of the playoffs.View Tickets

Trail Blazers February Schedule Ticket Average Up 7.35%

Portland Trail Blazers February Schedule

Good thing that LaMarcus Aldridge decided to postpone his thumb operation. If he was to miss the next 6-8 weeks, the Blazers would have a hard time to keep their position in the West. And even with Aldridge in uniform, it won’t be an easy task, given the Blazers February schedule and the challenges that lie ahead. While Portland will play most of its games in February at home, the visitors are teams that are in the top of the West, or should be there. Here is a breakdown of Blazers February Schedule and their toughest games.

The Trail Blazers attendance during January averaged 19,501. This is up 0.80% from their 2014 averaged attendance of 19,346. The Trail Blazers February Schedule in the 2013/14 season ended with a 7 and 5 record. The Blazers went 4-2 at home and 3-3 on the road. The 2015 Trail Blazers February schedule will feature six games at the Moda Center and three games on the road. Currently they are 20-5 at home and 12-11 on the road.

Trail Blazers February schedule of ticket prices for the 2014 season averaged $68.00 per ticket. The Blazers 2015 February schedule of games are averaging $73.00 per ticket up 7.35% from last February.

Top 5 Portland Trail Blazers February Schedule Games.

Blazers @ Mavericks American Airlines Center February 7th
Starting price $40 | Average price $60
The Mavs and the Blazers are very close in the standings. A win here and there might decide whether the team finishes 3rd or sixth in the standings. Therefore, their direct duels are of huge importance for both teams. The Blazers do have the second best defense in the league, but they will be hard pressed to stop the Mavericks from scoring. They managed that in their first duel of the season, holding the Mavs to 87 points. View Tickets.

Blazers @ Rockets Toyota Center February 8th
Starting price $33 | Average price $53
The Blazers have their only back to back set in February in Texas. The day after visiting the Mavericks and their top offense, the Blazers pay a visit to the Rockets and James Harden, arguably one of the top 3 scorers in the league at the moment. The first duel finished with a win for the Rockets, so Portland would look to avenge their loss. View Tickets.

Grizzlies @ Blazers Moda Center February 22th
Starting price $35 | Average price $65
At the beginning of the month and their February schedule, the Blazers face tough opponents on the road. At the end of the month, they have the privilege of hosting the matchups. First on the list of tough opponents is Memphis, the second best team in the West at the moment. The Blazers are yet to win a game versus the Grizzlies this season, so this might be a good chance to do so. View Tickets.

Spurs @ Blazers Moda Center February 25th
Starting price $26 | Average price $62
This year, the Blazers look different when playing the Spurs. Last year, for example, they were routed both during the regular season and the playoffs. Portland managed to win the first two matchups, but with Kawhi Leonard in the lineup, the Spurs are a different team. View Tickets.

Thunder @ Blazers Moda Center February 27th
Starting price $49 | Average price $104
Don’t let the Thunder rankings fool you, OKC is still one of the top 4 teams in the West. With everyone healthy, the Thunder are slowly finding their groove and racking up wins, both ugly and easy. While everyone expected Portland and Oklahoma City to battle for the division title, the Blazers have it in their pocket thanks to the injuries suffered by Thunder players. But OKC is still dangerous, and the team must win almost every game in order to qualify for the playoffs. View Tickets.

Trail Blazers Ticket Deals

Many will classify the Portland Trail Blazers as a jump shooting team, and it has been long said that teams shooting too many jumpers cannot compete for a championship. But the Blazers also have the third best defense in the league, just behind the Warriors and the Rockets. Their offense is also in the top 10, ranked 8th. This year, it seems like the Blazers are finally ready for the big stage. Aldridge and Lillard are playing at an All Star level, and their complementary pieces are playing great. The addition of Steve Blake and Chris Kaman has bolstered their bench. All in all, the Blazers are poised to win the Northwest division, and if all goes well, might even compete for a championship this season. They were fifth in the West last year, and this year they have a chance to be in the upper 4 teams, with home court advantage until the West Finals.

Trail Blazers Attendance:
The Blazers are ranked 8th for home attendance averaging 19,488 (93.1%) a game at the Moda Center in 2015 which is down from their 2014 attendance of 19,746 (95%) per game. Currently the Trail Blazers have 18-4 record at home. The Blazers are 12-7 on the road with an average of 16,456 per game which is down -4.94% from their 2014 average of 17,312 (91.1%) on the road. Both 2014/15 averages are down from for their attendance at the Moda Center during their 2012 season which averaged 20,496 per game.

Trail Blazers Ticket Prices
Trail Blazers tickets at the Moda Center in 2015 are currently averaging $60.00 per ticket which is a -57.14 drop from their Dec 2014 average ticket price of $140.00 per ticket. Blazers average ticket prices on the secondary market are also down -14.28% from their 2012 price of $70.00 per ticket. This gives you the chance to get some great Trail Blazers Ticket Deals for the Moda Center as well as road games due to the average ticket price for a Blazers road game is down -18% on the secondary market.

Here is a look at 5 key Trail Blazers Games Coming Up.

Spurs @ Trail Blazers, Moda Center, February 25,
Starting price $27, Average price $47
If the playoffs started today, the Blazers and the Spurs would be opponents in the first round. The teams meet last year in the playoffs, and the Spurs rolled over the Blazers, wining 4-1. This year, Portland has won the two regular season matchups. The better they play versus the San Antonio Spurs, the bigger their confidence would be. After last year’s dismantle, the Blazers must show and prove they can compete with the best of the best. View all Spurs vs Trail Blazers ticket deals at the Moda Center.

Thunder @ Trail Blazers, Moda Center, February 27,
Starting price $43, Average price $63
Chances are the two teams might not face in the playoffs, but they are division rivals. The Blazers won the first two matchups, but back then, Durant and Westbrook were not playing or were rusty. The division title is likely secured as well, but it is always better to be sure. View all Thunder vs Trail Blazers ticket deals at the Moda Center.

Rockets @ Trail Blazers, Moda Center, March 11,
Starting price $23, Average price $56
The Rockets and the Blazers will be one of the top four teams in the league. That is almost certain. However, exact rankings are to be decided, and direct duels go a long way in the Western Conference. Being second or third makes the difference between home court in the first two rounds, or just the first round. However, in this case, some teams might want to avoid the 2nd spot in the West, as it might mean a date with the Spurs in the first round. View all Rockets vs Trail Blazers ticket deals at the Moda Center.

Trail Blazers @ Grizzlies, FedEx Forum, March 21,
Starting price $16, Average price $29
The Grizzlies are one of the few teams in the league that can compete with the large frontline of the Blazers. Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph are beasts under the basket. This is one of the few matchups where Aldridge must defend in the post, a role he is not pleased to do so. Usually the Blazers use Robin Lopez to defend the post, but the Grizzlies employ two big men in the post. View all Trail Blazers vs Grizzlies ticket deals at the FedEx Forum.

Trail Blazers @ Warriors, Oracle Arena, April 9,
Starting price $45, Average price $77
The two best teams in the West will likely compete till the end of the season. Two other teams that can realistically get the top spot are the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies. If the Blazers stay second, they will likely have to go through Golden State and win on the road to get to the Finals. Getting a preview of the atmosphere during the regular season won’t hurt. OKC Thunder Tickets

OKC Thunder Tickets Down 36%

The Thunder were supposed to be fighting for a top spot in the West this season, not fighting for a playoff spot. But they are the team most hit by injuries to key players. Faced with the possibility of missing the playoff for the first time since 2009, the Thunder must soar to one of the last two playoff spots. They are 4 games behind Phoenix and five games behind San Antonio. Another problem for the Thunder is the New Orleans Pelicans, a team above the Thunder in the rankings.

The Thunder are ranked 13th in attendance for home games at the Chesapeake Arena averaging 18,203 per game in 2015 which has been constant since 2012/2013. The Thunder has a 12-7 record at home so far. OKC Thunder ticket prices on the secondary market have dropped -36.61% from their high at the start of the 2014/15 season of $142.00 per ticket down to $90.00 per ticket average currently.

Thunder On The Road
OKC is struggling on the road with a 7-13 record and averaging 17,018 (89%) in attendance this season which is down -7.18% from their 2013 average of 18,335 per game. OKC Thunder tickets for road games are averaging $67.00 per ticket which is a decrease of -24.71% since the start of the 2014/15 season.

Here is a look at the Top 5 Games the OKC Thunder have coming up:

Timberwolves @ Thunder, Chesapeake Arena, January 26,
Starting price $22, Average price $58
The Thunder have the commodity of playing in the same division as the lowly Timberwolves. It is not just this game, but two more by the end of the season the Thunder will play versus Minnesota. And for a team desperate for easy wins, it doesn’t get as easy as playing the Timberwolves four times in the season. View all Thunder vs Timberwolves tickets at the Chesapeake Arena.

Thunder @ Pelicans, Smoothie King Center, February 4,
Starting price $8, Average price $32
The Thunder lost the first games of the season versus the Pelicans, but those were with half of the team injured. Now they have Westbrook and Durant back in uniform, which could be enough for the Thunder to win on the road. They will play the Pelicans at home just two nights later, which gives them a great chance to even things out with the team from New Orleans. View all Thunder vs Pelicans tickets at the Smoothie King Center. OKC Thunder tickets for their game against the Pelicans Feb 4th at the Chesapeake Arena start at $37.00 per ticket and are averaging $62.00.

Thunder @ Suns, US Airways Center, February 26,
Starting price $43, Average price $83
Unlike their duels with the Pelicans, the Thunder won two of the duels with the Phoenix Suns. Should they get into the playoffs, they must continue the success versus the Suns, a team that is three games in front of the Thunder in the standings. They will play one more game in Phoenix in April. The first two duels, which the Thunder won, were played in Oklahoma City. View Phoenix Suns vs the OKC Thunder Tickets at the US Airways Center.

Lakers @ Thunder, Staples Center, March 1,
Starting price $60, Average price $137
Same as with the Timberwolves, the Thunder must rack up a couple of easy wins in order to make up ground with the playoff teams. The first duel between the teams was as close as possible, with the Thunder wining 104-103. They will play one more game by the end of March, in Oklahoma. View all Lakers vs Thunder tickets for the Staples Center. You can also purchase OKC Thunder tickets for their meeting with the Lakers at the Chesapeake Energy Center.

Trail Blazers @ Thunder, Chesapeake Arena, April 13,
Starting price $29, Average price $66
Before the season started, the Thunder and the Blazers were supposed to battle for the title in the Northwest division. Just half the season in, Portland has the title wrapped up. The Trail Blazers have won two of the first duels between the two teams. For the Thunder, beating Portland has additional confidence value, given the fact they might meet in the playoffs. But they will also have to beat them at least once this season. View all Thunder vs Trail Blazers tickets for the Chesapeake Arena.

Moda Center events

Guide To Upcoming Events At The Moda Center

The Moda Center is the Portland, Oregon mainstay sports venue. The Moda Center used to be called The Rose Garden, from 1995 until 2013. The Moda Center is owned by a company called Vulcan and is managed by Anshutz Entertainment and AEG Live, two of the biggest management companies in the world. The Moda Center sits at 1 Center Court, in the heart of Portland, Oregon. The original Rose Garden was built at a breathtaking cost of $262 million at the time of construction. In 2015 dollars, that translates to $406 million. The architect endeavored to construct such a monumental venue was Ellerbe Becket. Ellerbe Becket is a Minneapolis based architecture firm that was founded in 1909. Today it is one of the biggest firms in the world with 475 employees in seven locations throughout three countries. They have designed buildings in every single state in the U.S. as well as twenty countries. The top of the line venue has seating capacities and courts/stages for basketball, ice hockey, lacrosse, center stage theater and end stage theater. For basketball the court now accommodates 19,441 fans. For Ice hockey it accommodates 18,280. For the center stage concerts the Moda Center seats 20,500 and for the end stage the Moda Center holds 15,000. It also offers a “theater of the clouds”, seating 6,500. The Moda Center Theater of the Clouds is constructed to create an acoustic cloud using curtains and is designed for small and intimate performances and speakers. By the time the original Rose Garden opened, it had taken three years.

The Moda Center Seating chart has over 14,000 permanent seats. They are arranged in two bowls. Another 1,540 permanent seats are located in the skyboxes. 4,200 portable seats are available depending upon the event and current seating chart. For basketball the arena can actually fit almost 21,000 for standing room. The Moda Center also hosts a flurry of other special events, including monster trucks, circuses, and concerts. The Moda Center offers seventy skyboxes. Each skybox has twenty-two seats and V.I.P. amenities such as a wet bar, private bathroom, several television monitors, catering, and a sound system. Patrons can rent out a skybox year round, on a per-event contract, and more. In 2014, those who rented the skybox year round were granted access to all events that year. The skybox annual contract is certainly the most cost-effective and luxurious approach for enjoying Portland events. The Moda Center also offers 44-person Super Suites, an 88-person mega suite and party suites.

Concert Seating Chart Moda Center

The Moda Center has concourses on the 100 and 300 level and all are open to the general public patrons during events. The Moda Center has over thirty bathrooms and a ratio of women’s to men’s bathrooms that are 3 to 1, so the women freshening up etc. don’t have a long wait. The high-def scoreboard is fifteen feet wide by twenty-two feet long. There are over 650 T.V. screens spread throughout the Moda Center. The Moda Center sound offers the acoustical cloud featuring 160 rotating acoustic panels that suspend from the ceiling. They create the roar that made the Old Memorial Coliseum one of the loudest in the NBA. The panels are adjustable depending upon the event.

This year the Moda Center is full of 2015 calendar events and tickets.
