It was one of the stunning concerts that I’ve seen as Lady Gaga rocks Singapore Indoor Stadium for her Born This Way Ball. The first sold-out night of her three-night tour in Singapore (May 28, 29 and 31) was attended by thousands of fans of all ages; female, male, young and old. The stage was dazzling with a castle and the design setting was changing as different songs played. Her opening song was “Highway Unicorn (Road to Lov,” as she appeared on the stage on the top of a black unicorn prop.
Lady Gaga’s powerful music, extreme dance moves and not to mention her unique sense of fashion were showcased during the concert. She had costumes of a futuristic soldier, meat dress outfit and strange costumes with sequences that added entertainment to the extraordinary event. She even played on a piano that was designed like a motorcycle for her performance of the song, “Hair”.
What overwhelmed me the most was the part where she shared her stories of her youth. How she struggled to survive from the mean boys in high school and how they made her feel like a loser. She had words of encouragement to the fans whom she often calls, ‘Little Monsters.’ Her speech moved me, and some of the audience were even in tears. It was a touching night, and everyone enjoyed the show as she also stated that we all deserve to be happy. As the concert was about to end, she also said that she wakes up every morning and pinch herself because she can’t believe that she’s a star. She ended the show with an encore version of “Marry the Night”, and everyone was enjoying it. The concert was worth watching with a full blast of unique and extravagant entertainment. I can’t wait to see her next concert tours!
