Mike Dunleavy was the head coach from 2003-2010 where he led the team to a game 7 in the 2nd round of the NBA Playoffs against the Phoenix Suns with a lineup of Elton Brand, Sam Cassell, Corey Maggette, Cuttino Mobley, and Chris Kaman and won 47 games that season. He was the 1999 Coach of the Year with the Portland Trail Blazers. He coached them to a weak 215-316 record after being the 9th straight coach to lead them to a record 20+ games below 500.
Vinny Del Negro was the head coach from 2010-2013 where he coached them to 2 straight playoff appearances with a lineup with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Caron Butler, and Chauncey Billups and had there 1st 50 win season and pacific division title in the franchise history. He coached them to a great 230-128 record where the Clippers have finally got a coach who can coach them to an above 500 record but his job was cut short due to not getting them over the hump in the playoffs and the lack of developing young stars such as Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Eric Bledsoe.
Doc Rivers is the head coach he was acquired from the Boston Celtics in exchange for 2 1st round picks where he won a Championship with the Boston Celtics back in 2008. He has now led the Clippers to a 3rd straight playoff appearance with a lineup of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, JJ Redick, and Luc Mbah Moute. Ever Since he came to the team Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan’s improvement went up the ceiling. he has led them to a great 166-80 record in 3 seasons. He may wind up ending his coaching career with the Clippers with an NBA Championship. Doc Rivers is considered one of the best if not the best Los Angeles Clippers Coaches of all time.
