Kyle Clifford Facts
Kyle Clifford was born January 13, 1991, in Ayr, Ontario, Canada. The 6 ft 2 in, 211 pounds Clifford plays left wing and shoots left handed.
Kyle started his hockey career playing junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Barrie Colts.
Kyle spent three seasons with the Barrie Colts, amassing 327 penalty minutes. 45 goals and 100 points in 184 games.
Clifford joined the American Hockey League (AHL) Manchester Monarchs for the 2009-10 postseason.
The LA Kings drafted Kyle Clifford in the second round, 35th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
In 2010-11, Clifford earned a roster spot with the LA Kings out of training camp.
Kyle Clifford First NHL Goal
Clifford scored his first goal in the NHL on December 9, 2010, against Miikka Kiprusoff of the Calgary Flames.
During the 2012-13 NHL lockout, Kyle signed with the Ontario Reign of the ECHL. Clifford played nine games with the Los Angeles Kings minor league affiliate.

Cliffords 141 penalty minutes in his NHL rookie season of 2010-11 were the most by a first-year Los Angeles Kings player since Steve McKenna (150) during the 1997-98 season.
Kyle became the 20th teenager to play hockey for the Los Angeles Kings. Making his NHL debut with the team on Oct. 9, 2010, against the Vancouver Canucks at 19 years old.
He led all Los Angeles Kings rookies with seven goals during the 2010-11 season.
Clifford appeared in all six games in the 2011-12 Kings Stanley Cup Playoffs, where he had scored three goals and had five points against the New Jersey Devils.
On January 23, 2012, Clifford with a goal, an assist and a fighting major he scored his first “Gordie Howe Hat Trick.”
In the 2011-12 NHL playoffs, Los Angeles won all three games Kyle Clifford played on the way to winning the Kings first Stanley Cup Championship.
With his 2013-14 postseason totals, Kyle Clifford helped the Los Angeles Kings win the Stanley Cup.
Clifford also provided Los Angeles fans with some offense in big moments as the Kings won their second Stanley Cup during the 2013-14 season.
In Game 7 of the 2014 NHL Western Conference Semifinals against the rivals, the Anaheim Ducks Clifford had two assists helping Los Angeles win 6-2
Kyle scored a goal, and an assist in Game 1 against the New York Rangers in the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals.
Clifford’s second assist in the Stanley Cup Finals came in the double-overtime of game fives winning goal by Alec Marinez.
On February 25th, 2015, the Los Angeles Kings Re-signed Kyle Clifford To A Five-Year contract extension deal.
