The Warriors are starting the New Year with their first four games playing at home, at Oracle Arena. The team that is hottest in the NBA, and arguably looking like the best title contender, will host some of the better quality teams in January. But with the way Stephen Curry, Clay Thompson, and Co. are playing, it looks like nothing can stop them. They are winning ugly games, they are winning high scoring games, and everything in between. Curry is a legitimate MVP candidate, and Steve Kerr has made some adjustments that have placed the Warriors in top 10 for both offensive and defensive rating. Here is the Warriors ticket prices and schedule for their home games at the Oracle Arena in January.
Warriors vs Raptors, January 2, Average price $104
If DeMar DeRozan is healthy and ready to go, this might be the duel of the two best teams from each conference. The Raptors might still be No.1 in the East, but without DeRozan, they are a different team. And with him in the lineup, fans will get a chance to see two of the best backcourts in the league: Curry + Thompson vs Lowry + DeRozan.
Warriors vs Thunder, January 5, Average price $113
The Warriors won the first matchup, but that was without Durant and Westbrook in the lineup. With its dynamic duo back and healthy, the Thunder are rolling. Games versus the Warriors and other elite teams in the West are measuring stick, and Durant would sure love to send a message. OKC might not be in the top 4 in the rankings by then, but they will be there by the end of the season.
Warriors vs Pacers, January 7, Average price $67
Even without Paul George, the Pacers are an excellent defensive team. Roy Hibbert is back to his usual self, and under Coach Frank Vogel, the Pacers will defend. The problem is their scoring, and versus the defence of the Warriors, points do not come easy. This should be an easy win for the Warriors, but you never know.
Warriors vs Cavaliers, January 9, Average price $200
The Cavaliers are starting to figure things out, which should serve as a great building block for a fantastic game. Throw in the fact that the Warriors had the chance to trade for Kevin Love, but choose to stick with the Splash Brothers instead, and there is enough intrigue to make this game one for the ages. And we haven’t even got to the point guard duel of two magicians with the ball.
Warriors vs Heat, January 14, Average price $185
As with many other teams they faced this season, the Warriors routed the Heat in their first matchup. This time, they will be playing on the second night of a back to back set, having played in Utah the previous night. But with the way, the Heat are playing, and the injuries they are facing, they might be easy prey for the Warriors.
Warriors vs Nuggets, January 19, Average price $45
The game will feature two point guards selected in the 2009 draft, with Curry going 7th and Ty Lawson going 18th to the Nuggets. It was a point guard heavy class, and five years later, we see how good some of the prospects have developed. Lawson and Curry are arguably the two best point guards in the class, and they will have the chance to go head to head.
Warriors vs Rockets, January 21, Starting price $32, Average price $80
The Houston Rockets opening game vs Warriors met two times this season, and GSW won both duels by a wide margin. However, things will be different now with Dwight Howard in the lineup and look spry as ever. James Harden couldn’t take the Warriors by himself, but he will have his big guy helping him in this one. The duel between Harden and the Splash brothers is exciting enough, with all three players able to go 30+ points on a given night, but toss in Howard, and things are even more interesting.
Warriors vs Kings, January 23, Average price $75
How quickly things change in the NBA. The Kings were looking great in November and were challenging for a playoff spot. Then Demarcus Cousins got hurt, and the Kings are falling. They fired their coach, and until they hire a new one and install an identity, they will be an easy target for all teams, especially title contenders such as the Warriors.
Warriors vs Celtics, January 25, Average price $67
If Rajon Rondo is still wearing green by this time, this will be one hell of a matchup. While nothing is imminent, there are rumours the Cs might trade him. But while in green, he lives for moments and matchups like these. Rondo loves going versus the elite point guards, and Curry is a challenge enough to motivate Rondo, the triple-double machine.
Warriors vs Bulls, January 27, Average price $70
Two days after facing Rondo, Curry will have to face Derrick Rose, another great point guard. But Curry is no stranger to facing elite guards and shooting all over them. He has become so versatile and impossible to guard, as he can shoot, pass, dribble, drive to the basket and everything in between. The Chicago Bulls however, pose a challenge due to their stiff defense. Another interesting matchup is Butler vs Thompson, two young shooting guards on the rise.
Warriors vs Suns, January 31, Average price $84
Playing on the second night of back to back is a challenge enough. Going against three guards and their fast tempo is even more challenging. A bonus for the matchup is the first duel between the two. The Phoenix Suns on Opening day are one of the few teams to have beaten the Warriors this season.
