So it’s that time of year again; it signifies summer, Americana, watermelon slices, lemonade, fireworks (and more). In a county of 22 million, there are endless places to be on July 4th.
Idea No. 1) The AmericaFest @ the Rose BowlIf you haven’t been to the Rose Bowl, visiting just once is reason enough to go alone. But if you are a fan of fireworks, then this is the biggest fireworks show in L.A. The food courts open at 2pm, the stadium opens at 6pm, Drums and Bugles start at 7 and the fireworks at 9:05 precisely- it’s not something to be missed! It costs $13 to get in the door and any kids under 7 get in free. Unless you order online, the stadium only takes cash.
Idea No. 2) Fireworks at the Hollywood BowlFrom July 2-4 you can see fireworks at 7:30 pm at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets are anywhere between $12 and $158, parking is $15 per car and up. This year the fireworks show is featuring Daryl Hall and John Oates as well as the HB Orchestra with conductor Thomas Wilkins. The Hollywood Bowl is nestled in the Hollywood Hills and the sound created by the natural setting is like nothing else.
Idea No. 3) 4th of July Spectacular at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base
From 4pm onward on July 4th, admission is free and parking is $5. You can’t beat the price! Celebrate Independence day with U.S. military members. With a food court, sponsor booths, and the Kids Fun Zone, this is awesome for some family time.
Idea No. 4) Annual Indpendence Day Celebration at Hansen Dam
Held at the San Fernando Valley Hansen Dam, this annual fireworks celebration runs from 3 to 10 on July 4th. Admissions’ free and parking’s only $10. This fireworks celebration features live music, gourmet food trucks, a kid zone complete with a water slide, and raffles with prizes. They thought of everything!
