Tess Coleman is a respected psychiatrist with a precocious teenage daughter, Anna. Tess is engaged to Ryan and is in the middle of organizing their wedding. Anna has trouble dealing with school bullies, exams and teachers. To top it all, she has to deal with her mother’s disregard for anything that she has set her heart on including her passion for music. Tess, on the other hand is completely stressed out by her daughter’s outbursts and her apparent lack of seriousness.
While dining in a Chinese restaurant the mother and daughter start bickering and the nosy proprietor offers them magical fortune cookies. The next day, Tess and Anna wake up in each other’s bodies.
