ABOUT FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL TICKETS:
Flashdance The Musical is based on the hit 1980's feature film, Flashdance starring Jennifer Beals. This groundbreaking movie introduced a style of dance that most people had never seen and empowered young women all over the world that they could accomplish just about anything if they set their minds to it. The stage adaptation has fully embraced the unusual mix of street dancing with classical ballet, jazz and ballroom styles, which it zealously showcases with a unique and diverse cast. The explosive dance routines accompanied by the undeniably commanding sound design combine to create an energy that shakes the house. The critics are also raving about the set design, which is remarkable considering the many changes between the depressed Pittsburgh ‘working class' set of Alex's day job, to the incredible Zanzibar pole dancing club to the Audition space for Shipley Dance Academy.

The Flashdance The Musical main story is about Alex, an apprentice welder who plans on using her dancing skills to dance her way right out of the horrible life she is living, even if it flashdancing. As with all great stories, Alex has a love interest, Nick, who happens to be the boss's son. In a departure from the Flashdance movie storyline, Alex and Nick never break up in the stage show. Although Flashdance The Musical offers sixteen original songs written just for the stage production, it also includes the greats such as Academy Award Winning “Flashdance – What a Feeling,” “Maniac,” “I Love Rock ‘n' Roll,” and “Gloria.” Flashdance The Musical is a must see, whether you are already a fan, or you just love dance!
