Batman Live looks set to be a visually stunning production, complete with a new, original storyline. The live show will feature Batman, his trusty counterpart Robin, tireless butler Alfred and a host of other favourite Batman characters, including villains such as The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman and The Penguin.
The story of Batman first hit comic stands in May of 1939 and he was an instant National/DC comic book superhero. For seven decades Batman, the Caped Crusader, has been keeping Gotham City safe from menacing villains with the help of his trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth and sometimes Robin or Batgirl. Batman is a cultural icon and has been adapted into animated tv series, countless films, and regular television series. Now DC National is bringing Batman to you live on a stage near you. Expected to hit theatres in conjunction with the release of Christopher Nolan's third Batman box office movie, the show will be called Batman Live. Brought to you by the same on-stage producers as Mamma Mia! and Walking With Dinosaurs, Batman Live is expected to have huge audience turnouts. Written by longtime animation writer Alan Burnett, Batman Live has high hopes for a successful superhero-to-stage transformation.
