Ross Coleman of Molalla, Oregon, was one of the 15 riders, who joined the Professional Bull Riders All Star Challenge that was held in the month of November, 2006. This event is a competition of the top 15 riders from the Built Ford Tough Series as well as 5 fan choice riders, which are voted by PBR fans. During the 2006 season, Ross Coleman successfully won the event of the Southern Ford Dealers Challenge. Ross Coleman was in the fifth place in round one and was advanced to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round 11th in the bucking order. With 175.25 points on two bulls, Mike Lee of Decatur, Texas was in the lead. He was subsequently matched by Brian Herman of Victoria, Texas and Greg Potter of Queensland, Australia. Ross Coleman had a great match up with the bull named Cat Man Do that resulted to a 90.75 point score. Guilherme Marchi of Leme, Sao Paulo was the third placer with 175.75 points. Ross Coleman defeated Sevi Torturo of Williston, Florida by a slim half point margin, which resulted to a 177.50 point score for Torturo and a 178 point score for Ross Coleman as a total on two bulls.

For the 2007 season of the Built Ford Tough Series, as of the 29th of March, Ross Coleman acquired a status of being a 35th placer out of 67. In addition, Ross Coleman had 9 events attended, 19 bulls attempted with 8 bulls ridden and a riding percentage of 42.11 %. Moreover, Ross Coleman obtained 1,033 Built Ford Tough Series points and earned a total of $32,125.90 for the on-going event of the 2007 season of the Built Ford Tough Series.

Ross Coleman was one of the top 5 winners of the Atlanta Classic event of the 2007 Built Ford Tough Series, which was held at Atlanta, Georgia on the 3rd of February. The aforementioned event resulted to 87.74 points and $10,100 money earned by Ross Coleman.

Ross Coleman rode his first calf at age seven-the same year Ross Coleman won his first buckle. Ross Coleman continued the natural transition from steers to junior bulls. By high school, Coleman wasn't just a stand out in bull riding. Ross Coleman competed in every event in rodeo. It was those skills that earned Ross Coleman the National High School Rodeo Association All-Around Cowboy title in 1997. After a year of competing on UNLV's rodeo team, Coleman joined the PBR and now rides with the men that Ross Coleman admired as a youth, such as Michael Gaffney and Jim Sharp. Coleman credits bull rider Aaron Semas for helping Ross Coleman improve his riding style. "Aaron was my traveling partner my first year, and Ross Coleman helped me out a bunch. Ross Coleman let me know what I was doing wrong and helped me change it," says Coleman. Coleman says his greatest bull riding accomplishment was covering Jerry Nelson's bull Copenhagen Tuff-E-Nuff in the Mossy Oak Shoot Out Bonus round at the 2001 Columbus, Ohio PBR event. The $100,000 bonus remains the greatest payout for a single ride in PBR history.
