The Houston Rodeo was successful in presenting its livestock show and rodeo events. The 2007 Houston Rodeo hosted the Houston Rodeo Super Series in which fifty cowboys and cowgirls in each of the seven events competed for a share of $1.2 million in prize money. Each event champion received a Houston Rodeo trophy saddle and a champion buckle as well as prize money of $50,000. The Houston Rodeo champions are consisted of Houston Hutto of Del Rio, Texas for tie-down roping; Bobby Mote of Culver, Oregon for bareback bronc riding; Brandon Beers of Post, Oregon for team roping together with Mike Beers of Phoenix, Arizona; Rusty Allen of Lehi, Utah for saddle bronc riding; Jule Hazen of Protection, Kansas for steer wrestling; Codi Baucom of Carthage, North Carolina for barrel racing; and B.J. Schumacher of Hillsboro, Wisconsin for bull riding.
Furthermore, the Houston Rodeo also hosted a Bar-B-Que Contest that was visited by 190,913 supporters who truly enjoyed the event.
