San Diego Padres Information
The San Diego Padres is also famous for their nickname as "The Friars." They are one of the teams who are competing in the West Division of National League in the most prestigious baseball league in the world, the Major League Baseball. The team joined the Major League Baseball as one of four new expansion teams, along with the Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals), the Kansas City Royals, and the Seattle Pilots (now the Milwaukee Brewers). The team’s original team owner was C. Arnholt Smith. The team struggled very hard in their early years. First baseman Nate Colbert was the San Diego's best player during that time. However, Nate Colbert left the team in the year 1974. After the departure of Nate Colbert, Dave Winfield became their new star. Dave Winfield is one of the best baseball players during his time. He played very good since he entered San Diego Padres in the year 1973.
