The team of the Dodgers signed Joe Beimel a one-year contract to avoid a possible arbitration case. Beimel has incentives in his contract that can yield an additional $40,000 each by appearing in 50, 60, 70 and 85 games this season.

Joe Beimel is a relief pitcher of the Dodgers since 2006. In his first season with the team, he was 2-1 with a 2.96 ERA, delivering ten holds and two saves in 62 appearances.

In 2007, Beimel appeared in 83 games, was 4-2 with one save, 16 holds and a 3.88 ERA in 67 1/3 innings.

Joe Beimel will continue to be with the Dodgers as they continue to be one of the outstanding teams in MLB.
