It was a great time for the LA Dodgers and Dominican children as the team made a trip to the island nation and paid a visit to Futuro Vivo. It is a school that has been supported by the fantastic team for almost two decades. It was like Christmas for the children of Futuro Vivo as the LA Dodgers were like Santa Claus dressed in Dodgers blue. The team was with Santo Domingo manager Pedro Mega, Coach Tony Mota, field coordinator Antonio Bautista, as well as the son of Dodgers coach Manny Mota.

The students were preparing for lunch as the LA Dodgers arrived. The students heard from the former Dodgers infielder who grew up in nearby San Cristobal. “It's important for you to work hard and respect your teachers,” said Vizcaino to the youngsters. “You can follow your dreams and accomplish anything you want in life.”

On the other room, 100 kids were eating, and Vizcaino talked to a young boy who did not want to eat his lunch due to a headache. Vizcaino asked the child, "What if I feed it to you?". Afterwards, he was shoveling spoonfuls of food into the child's mouth with a wide smile on his face.

In addition to the Dodgers' trip the team also began passing out Dodgers' pencils, temporary tattoos, notepads, calendars, lunchboxes, bobbleheads of Rafael Furcal, and posters. The baseball team of the school was also given fifty uniform t-shirts with the Dodgers Dream Foundation logo, together with a set of brand new baseball gloves for the team.

Moreover, the team and the students enjoyed the moment as they posed for a photo and excitedly held up their baseballs and gloves before it was time for the LA Dodgers to get back to Campo Las Palmas. In fact, a kid grabbed the pant leg of Jose Castellano, the newly hired director of finance at the academy. The sweet girl asked him, “When are the Dodgers coming back?”

The trip to Futuro Vivo was a great and unforgettable one for the LA Dodgers. The team and every student enjoyed it. Futuro Vivo is part of the life of the Dodgers as a team, as the team is also a big part of the students’ life.

This is just one of the great things that happen as part of the Dodgers’ life as outstanding players of MLB that appreciate their fans and contribute to the community as well.
