A.J. Burnett didn't feel like talking after giving up eight runs for the third time in six starts as the Angels of Anaheim's linescore against him said enough. However, Howie Kendrick drove in three runs, and the AL West leaders got homers from Torii Hunter and Garret Anderson to support Jered Weaver in an 8-2 win versus the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.

"It’s fun to watch those guys do their work," Weaver said. "The runs made things a little bit easier."

“I'm just concentrating on location, trying to keep all my pitches down and really concentrating on locating all my pitches.”

“We had a couple of innings where we made some mistakes defensively and gave them too many outs. You need your pitching and defense to be solid - especially when you're not scoring,”

On the other hand, the team of Angels is 5-2 against Toronto with two games left in the season series, ending a string of five straight years in which the Blue Jays held the upper hand. Los Angeles had played 18 consecutive games against Toronto without scoring more than four runs before building a 5-0 lead through six innings. In addition, the Halos grabbed a 2-0 advantage in the second when Hunter hit a first-pitch homer to right-center for his 10th of the campaign and Kendrick added an RBI double. Hunter is 2-for-17 lifetime against Burnett, and both of his hits have been home runs.

Garret Anderson singled and Gary Matthews Jr. grounded to third, before to Howie Kendrick's hit, however, Anderson was ruled safe on the attempted force play by umpire Angel Campos because Joe Inglett came off second base a step early taking Scott Rolen's throw and was charged with an error. In addition, Matthews hit an RBI double after Vladimir Guerrero doubled to right field off the glove of Alex Rios, and Torii Hunter reached on Marco Scutaro's fielding error. Kendrick followed Matthews' hit with a two-run single.

“I like to see the results as much as anybody”

The Angels of Anaheim was victorious as they won the game. This game inspired them to fight and do their best to win their games.
