With an inning of perilous but successful relief, to Rodriguez, it was Lackey’s second superb effort in the Bronx this season, but the victory in this 13-inning affair went, Lackey usually throws his between-starts bullpen session on the second day after a start, “so I could throw a couple [innings] if I need to,” he stated, underscoring the importance of winning this game for home-field advantage in the World Series. “It's absolutely something our players think about.
