St. Louis Rams
This coming National Football League's 2008 season will mark the 71 st season for the St. Louis Rams in the NFC West. Not only is it a great looking year for the team, but they have a lot to make up for from 2007 seeing as they ended their season 3-13. They definitely have no where to go but up, and looking at the changes they have made as a team, they definitely know what to do to get back to the top of their game.
It was a rather hard beginning of the year for avid Rams fans and all of those on and off the field. Georgia Frontiere, St. Louis Rams owner, passed away on January 18 th 2008 after a long battle with breast cancer. Frontiere's son Chip Rosenbloom will carry on her honor as owner, along with Lucia Rodrigues and Stan Kroenke. This definitely was a hard thing for all connected to the team to go through, but it only makes everyone want to honor her legacy that much more by giving their all and then some.
There were definitely quite a few great additions to the Rams roster through free agency signing. The Rams signed place kicker Josh Brown for five years, as he came from the Seattle Seahawks. Offensive lineman Jacob Bell from the Tennessee Titans and tight end Anthony Becht from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also two other great additions for the Rams.
As well as through free agency, the 2008 NFL Draft brought in a lot of strong and high potential rookies into the gold, white and blue jersey colors. Coming from Oregon State University is the much buzzed about offensive guard Roy Schuening, from Virginia is defensive end Chris Long, wide receiver Donnie Avery from Houston , offensive tackle from Toledo John Greco, cornerback Justin King from Penn State , Keenan Burton wide receiver from Kentucky , linebacker Chris Chamberlain from Tulsa and fellow linebacker David Vobora from Idaho . The St. Louis Rams definitely hit gold with these rookie additions, who are all packed full of talent.
It was an off year for the St. Louis Rams in 2007, but with all of the additions and obstacles the Rams have faced and worked through this past year the Rams are in a great standing coming into their 2008 season. It will all start on September 7 th when the Rams kick off their season against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Lincoln Financial Field.
