Raiders Host Business Event Raiders Host an Important Event
Thursday night, executives from over 225 of the businesses in Northern California gathered with the team of Oakland Raiders for an executive evening of food, networking, and football. The huddle was held in a festive setting at the popular Tres Agave Restaurant situated in San Francisco.
The event gave the Raiders an opportunity to meet with approximately 225 businesses located in Northern California and it provided those guests with an opportunity to enjoy Raider Hospitality and learn new ways in which they will enjoy working with the Raiders. Amy Trask said that guests came from the entire Northern California region; the Central Valley, the East Bay, the Silicon Valley, the North Bay and San Francisco. The team’s upcoming season as well as its recent draft picks was heard by the event attendees. Moreover, Oakland Raiders Head Coach Lane Kiffin, along with Director of Football Operations Mark Jackson, offensive coordinator Greg Knapp and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan were in attendance to share leadership strategies with the business leaders.
Coach Lane Kiffin shared with the crowd his job interview with Raiders Owner Al Davis. “That interview process was unbelievable because you got an interview with a guy who’s in the Hall of Fame, a guy who has been a coach, a guy who has obviously been an owner and gets football and understands it,” Kiffin said.
Adam Treu, Barry Sims, Chris Morris, Cooper Carlisle, Eric Frampton, John Bowie, Jonathan Holland, Kevin Boothe, Kirk Morrison, Michael Bush, Oren O’Neal, Sam Williams, as well as Tony Stewart were among the players who traded in their helmets and shoulder pads for dress shirts and blazers for this event. Raider Legends, who attended consist of George Atkinson, Morris Bradshaw, Cliff Branch, Jim Plunkett and Steve Wisniewski. “As of today we have 42 new players from the day we got hired and that was very important,” as Coach Lane Kiffin shared the strategies that would compare favorably with experience many executives and managers in the audience encounter. “Why is that important? We had to create competition. We had a number of great players on this roster but you can’t let players get comfortable. Just like you can’t allow in your business, comfortable is not good. So we had to bring in competition, we had to bring great players in to work every day. Well in our team meeting we talk all the time about a team philosophy and building a locker room that is a bout the team philosophy, it’s not about the individual,” he continued.
On the other hand, according to Amy Trask, it is customary for the Oakland Raiders to host similar events throughout the year, although each event has a different flavor and is a different experience. She even said that the Raiders are pleased that businesses with whom the team has previously worked are back and that the team looks forward to establishing new alliances. “Businesses with whom we have done business in the past (including last season) are eagerly returning to do business with us again and new businesses are joining us for the 2007 season,” Trask stated. “We have already reached agreement with multiple new businesses but, of course, are welcoming back those businesses with whom we've worked for years.”
The event turned out to be a great success in every concern. Both the Oakland Raiders and the executives have shared their thoughts and plans. This event is very important not just for the team but for every body in the business as well.
