The Green Bay Packers is one of the legendary franchises of the National Football League. The Green Bay Packers is a member of the North Division of the National Football Conference. The magnificent team is homed in Lambeau Field and is based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Over the past years, the Green Bay Packers has been known for being a strong team.

By the year 1919, the team of Green Bay Packers was founded by Curly Lambeau and George Calhoun. Both started to find ways on how to produce funds that would support the professional football team. Curly Lambeau, who worked in the Indian Packing Company, talked to his employer and the company agreed to provide the team’s jerseys as well as the field that the team could use. Because of this, the club was initially identified as a project of the company. The first season of the Packers resulted to a winning record of 3 wins and 2 losses.

As early as 1929, the Green Bay Packers won their first National Football League title. The Green Bay Packers, during that time, was able to win 12 games (with one tie) without any losses. The Green Bay Packers was successful in defending their NFL title from the seasons of 1929 to 1931. As the National Football League, by 1933, merged into two divisions, the Green Bay Packers was assigned in the West Division. In 1936, the Green Bay Packers were hailed as the National Football League Champions again after defeating the Boston Redskins with a score of 21-6. In the 1939 and 1944 NFL Championships, the team of the Green Bay Packers also came out as the champion.

The Green Bay Packers is indeed a great team. Though the team encountered hardships with regards to their home field and standings, the team continued to struggle as professional players. In fact, in 1961, 1962, and 1965, the team consistently had a successful record that led it to achieve the National Football League title again. Moreover, the 1962 season turned out as the best season of the team as they finished the season with 13 wins and only one loss. Remarkably, by 1966 and 1967, the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl I and Super Bowl II, which were the first two AFL-NFL Championship Games that were held before the AFL-NFL Merger. The championship title was acquired by the Green Bay Packers in 1996 upon defeating the New England Patriots by 35-21; this was the 31st season of the Super Bowl.

If you’re looking for a great sports entertainment, grab some Green Bay Packers tickets today and don’t miss the fun and exciting games of the excellent team.

In 2005 the Green Bay Packers were ravaged by injuries, as their top three runners went down as did their Pro Bowl wide receiver Javon Walker who was traded to the Denver Broncos this off-season, but the 2008 campaign should be a bit kinder with Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre deciding to return rather then retire and a revamped defense that should make strides. Being a member of the NFC North also helps as their is no overwhelming favorite, although the Chicago Bears would be the likely choice to win the division because of their smothering defense, the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions round out a division that is the NFL's weakest.

At running back multiple pro bowler Ahman Green appears healthy and ready to go, Green is a tough back with great cutback ability and straight line speed, FB/RB Najeh Davenport has also recovered from injury and could create a tremendous 1-2 punch with Green, this unit is deep and filled with talent as third stringer RB Sam Gado proved to be a worthy option as well. The offensive line was crippled in '05 by the defection of OG Marco Rivera an all-pro who decided to sign with the Dallas Cowboys, OT Chad Clifton will be the headliner of a unit that is looking for cohesiveness but will only be average. With Javon Walker no longer around veterans Donald Driver and Robert Ferguson must increase their output if the Green Bay Packers are to have a productive passing game, as the other pass catchers are mostly non-descript, inexperienced types, although WR Rod Gardner a former first round pick of the Washington Redskins could help, but this group is clearly the biggest question mark on offense for the Green Bay Packers. The quarterback position is in good hands as Brett Favre is healthy and should rebound from his nightmarish '05 season, when right Favre can still be dangerous and capable of shredding a defense, second-year man QB Aaron Rodgers will be the second team signal caller and appears to have a bright future which leaves the position on firm ground.

The linebackers are the strength of the Green Bay Packers defense with ILB Nick Barnett being the standout, but a pair of rookies have the Green Bay Packers' fans and coaching staff excited, first round draft pick LB A.J. Hawk out of Ohio State is a stellar defender and will be an all-pro in the near future, and third round choice LB Abdul Hodge out of Iowa is yet another sledgehammer which should make this unit superb and one of the best in the league. In the secondary multiple pro bowler CB Charles Woodson was obtained from the Oakland Raiders which will strengthen the pass defense considerably, he along with CB Al Harris will form a duo that could shut down the pedestrian passing games of the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Detroit Lions, third year man CB Ahmad Carroll and rookie CB Will Blackmon add depth, Blackmon especially has a chance to be outstanding with his height and top end speed, this unit could be great if all the pieces come together. Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila is a relentless pass rusher and the leader of the defensive line, DT Aaron Kampman is a tough, sturdy run stuffer with a nonstop motor, but there are holes in this unit which could make them vulnerable against the run. PK Billy Cundiff and P B.J. Ryan will handle the kicking duties. With the division being so ordinary their is an outside chance the Green Bay Packers could win the NFC North, but a more realistic view is another sub .500 season......Great moment in team history.....In 1996 the Green Bay Packers had the best record in the NFL and muscled their way to the Super Bowl behind Favre and DE Reggie White and defeated the New England Patriots 35-21.
