January,03,2010 Ford Field (Football) The Detroit Lions are heading into their 2008 NFC Central season this September, and boy do they have a lot to look forward to with all the additions and spruces they have made this past off season. 2007 did the Lions in at 7-9 and they took away from last season the mindset that changes needed to be made, and they were.
Established in 1929, the Detroit Lions have built up a legacy that is very few and far between in the NFL, but when these roots are established in a team it makes all the difference. Since they have been around the field, the Lions have walked away with three NFL Championships in 1935, 1952, 1953 and 1957. The Lions also have the 1952 NFL National Championships, three NFL Western Championships and four division Championships.
Under the ownership of William Clay Ford, Sr., general manager Matt Millen and head coach Rod Morinelli, the Detroit Lions have a very strong backbone, and a very loyal fan base.
With the works of players such as safety Gerald Alexander, running back Tatum Bell, safety Greg Blue, line backers Caleb Campbell and Anthony Cannon, defensive tackle Shaun Cody, wide receivers Rom Bellamy and Taye Biddle, and the rest of the Lions roster, this 2008 season will be sure to be stacked with power, strength and talent.
The Detroit Lions will kick off the first game of their 2008 NFC Central season on Sunday, September 7 th against to Atlanta Falcons.
