Buffalo Bills
Based in Buffalo , New York , the Buffalo Bills are a professional football team and are members of the Eastern Division of the American Football Conference, the AFC, in the National Football League. On October 28, 1959 the Buffalo Bills officially became the eighth member of the AFL. The Buffalo Bills began to compete in 1960 and went on to win two consecutive American Football League titles in 1964 and then again in 1965, however the team has never won a league championship. In fact, the Buffalo Bills are the only team to win four consecutive American Football Conference Championships, while failing to win any of the following Super Bowls. The golden years of the Buffalo Bills were, undoubtedly, from 1988 to 1993. In that time, the Bills captured four consecutive Division Championships as well as four consecutive Conference Championships. This marked one of the most successful runs in NFL history.
In1993 the Bills won the AFC East championship with a 12 - 4 record, and again won playoff games against the Los Angeles Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. They then lost the rematch with the Cowboys, 30-13, in Super Bowl XXVIII on January 30, 1994. In 1995 Buffalo again made the playoffs with a 10 - 6 record and defeated Miami in the wild card round but they did not get a chance to get back to the Super Bowl. The Pittsburgh Steelers, who went on to advance to the Super Bowl, beat Buffalo in the divisional playoffs 40-21.
In January 2008, the Buffalo Bills became the first team to arrange to play annual home games outside of the United States . An agreement was made for the Bills to move one of its December home games for each of the next five years to Toronto , Canada for an astounding 78 million.
