The Cincinnati Bengals is one of the hottest teams in the National Football League today. If you want to experience the thrilling live game of Cincinnati Bengals, come and purchase Cincinnati Bengals tickets today!!!
In 2005, the Cincinnati Bengals made the playoffs for the first time since 1990 as bright and young head coach Marvin Lewis put the pieces together and produced an 11-5 record, capturing the AFC North division crown and establishing themselves as an up and coming power and a member of the NFL's elite. The Cincinnati Bengals set team records for fewest fumbles in a season (6), turnover differential (+24), takeaways (44), and intercepted 31 passes on the year. Carson Palmer led the offense and was brilliant in '05 passing for 3,836 yards with 32 touchdown passes and only 12 interceptions, but perhaps the most remarkable stats for Palmer were his 67.8 completion pct. and his quarterback rating of 101.1.Teamed with WR Chad Johnson, (1,432 yards, 9TDS) Palmer and Johnson became a devastating duo that secondaries had no answer for all year long.
The offensive line for the Cincinnati Bengals is a solid group that allowed only 21 sacks all year long. Veteran pro bowl OT Willie Anderson is outstanding and forms a great bookend at the tackle position with mammoth Levi Jones. OG Eric Steinbach continues to improve and could develop into an all-pro type too. This unit is underrated and well above average and usually keep Palmer's uniform clean.
Rudi Johnson emerged as one of the premiere running backs in the league as he rumbled for 1,458 yards and 12 touchdowns many of them from short yardage situations. Chris Perry is a more than capable backup and is an excellent receiver out of the backfield, creating mismatches with his elusive style and could start for a number of teams around the league. Running back is one of the strongest spots on the roster for the Cincinnati Bengals
The wide receiver is another position that has great depth and talent with all-pro Chad Johnson and up and coming T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Houshmandzadeh really came on at the end of the year and wound up with 956 yards and seven touchdowns. Second year men Chris Henry and Tab Perry are big fast targets as well and should only get better as they gain more experience while establsihing themselves as weapons in the return game.Tthis unit is one of the NFL's best rivaling the Indianapolis Colts.
With Carson Palmer returning from a major knee injury that he suffered in last season's wildcard game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cincinnati Bengals must have capable backups. Craig Krenzel can manage a team as can newly acquired Anthony Wright who had some good moments with the Baltimore Ravens, but the for the Bengals to be elite Palmer must be healthy. He is one of the three best signal callers in the NFL and will get even better. Tight End Reggie Kelly is a great blocker but not much of a receiving threat which is just fine in the Cincinnati Bengals scheme, the defense forced a ton of turnover out of their cover-2 look with the secondary being a primary reason as the aforementioned CB Deltha O'Neal led the entire NFL with 10 ints. And was voted to his second pro bowl, veteran CB Tory James will add depth and first round pick CB Jonathan Joseph from South Carolina should help right away as he possesses blazing speed and a great nose for the ball, at safety Dexter Jackson who has been MVP of the Super Bowl will add experience, smarts, and toughness. Seventh round pick Ethan Kilmer Penn State is a converted receiver who has good size and athletic ability and will be able to make the conversion to safety and is an intriguing prospect, at linebacker the Cincinnati Bengals have allot of young, fast up and comers like Odell Thurman who lead the Cincinnati Bengals in tackles and was terrific against the pass as well.
Veteran Brian Simmons excelled all season long and seem to be wherever the ball was and second year man OLB David Pollack was a terror rushing the passer and should be one of the better edge rushers in the league. The defensive line should be in good hands as DE Justin Smith is finally living up to his potential and will be a difficult task for any offensive tackle, on the defensive interior off-season acquisition DT Sam Adams commands a double team in the run as his girth and strength are almost impossible for one blocker to deal with, veteran DT Bryan Robinson is another 300+ pounder who is tough to move, this unit has a nice mix of youth and experience and should be above average and good against the run. Shayne Graham will handle the kicking duties and will be one of the best that the AFC has to offer, at the end of the day expect the Cincinnati Bengals to battle the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers for supremacy in the AFC North with Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, and Rudi Johnson producing nearly 30 points every game, and for the underrated defense to continue to improve as they master Lewis' intricate scheme, 10 to 13 wins is a realistic outlook and a certain playoff berth awaits the Cincinnati Bengals.
Great moment in team history. In 1988 the Bengals went 12-4 and reached the Super Bowl in one of the most dramatic turnarounds in NFL history as they had gone 4-11 the previous season, nine Bengals were voted to the pro bowl including QB Boomer Esiason, the Cincinnati Bengals narrowly missed out on their first world championship against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl as 49ers QB Joe Montana threw to WR John Taylor of the San Francisco 49ers with only 34 seconds left in the game for a 20-16 victory.
