Wilshire Ebell Theatre Information:
The Los Angeles Wilshire Theatre opened on 19 September, 1930. It was first named the Fox Wilshire and the Architect Charles Lee had designed a fabulous art deco auditorium and lobby. The Los Angeles Wilshire Theater was renovated in 1981 and now it is a prominent stage venue. Wilshire Theatre Los Angeles is a classic landmark in the city. It was one of the premier theaters of Fox before it came to be regularly used as a live performance venue.

The Wilshire Theater Los Angeles has premiered many movies. In 1953, Marilyn Monroe attended the premiere of How To Marry A Millionaire, the second ever cinemascope film. Later that year, Walt Disney's first Donald Duck cinemascope cartoon was also premiered. The 1960 showing of the Elvis Presley starrer G.I. Blues attracted attendees such as Ronal Regan and Cesar Romero.

In May 1944, the theatre attracted some notoriety after a thirteen-year-old girl, Patsy Ruth Brown, disappeared after leaving the Fox Wilshire Building penthouse.

The Los Angeles Wilshire Theater is situated in the south-east corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Hamilton Drive . Now it is regularly used to host live performances for music, comedy, film shoots, community events, screenings and television. In March 2009, the Los Angeles Wilshire Theatre was renames the Saban Theatre to honor Haim and Cheryl Saban who donated $5 million for the restoration of orchestra, marquee and proscenium.

Wilshire Theater Los Angeles hosts the Temple of Arts , which is operated by the Temple of the Air. It is an effort in bringing together Judaism and the Arts.
