“When The Fish went on the air in August of 2000, we launched Splash Bash at Raging Waters in San Dimas that October to celebrate,” Tyler explained. “But last year was our first big effort.”

And this Sunday will be the second. As last year, Fish Fest will feature bands on stage of the amphitheater, called the Mainstage for festival purposes, and at the smaller Festival Stage by the main entrance to the park. In addition to Third Day, the Mainstage, which plays host to the more mainstream Christian music artists, will feature the O.C. Supertones, TobyMac, Avalon, Joy Williams and actress and singer Jaci Velasquez.

“Jaci is popular in both the Latino and Christian markets,” Taber said.

“And the O.C. Supertones originated right here in Orange County, with roots in Mission Viejo.”

The Festival Stage will be the place for the more youth-oriented, edgier-sounding alternative bands playing harder rock, ska, punk and Eno: Five Iron Frenzy, Kutless, Alathea, Number One Gun, Radium (from Yorba Linda, the only other Orange County band in the festival), Point of Grace, and the lone holdover from last year, Jeremy Camp.
