Ron White (born on Dec.18th, 1956) is an stand-up comedian & satirist from Fritch, Texas. White is one of the members of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which helped elevate Ron to comedy star status following the original release of the Blue Collar tour and DVD. Ron is the only member of the Blue Collar crew that did not star in the Blue Collar TV series
In January/2000 thru March/2003, Ron White performed with comedian Jeff Foxworthy, Larry The Cable Guy & Bill Engvall on “The Blue Collar Comedy Tour,” this show played to sold out audiences well over 90 cities & grossed over $15 million. The “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” was filmed by Warner Bros. and released to theaters March/2003. The DVD version was released in June/2003 and has sold more than 1.5 million copies. The movie premiered on Comedy Central & was the most watched movie ever in the Comedy Channel’s history.
White is known for puffing on a cigar & drinking scotch during his sets, though it is suspected that the "scotch" is probably apple juice. Ron is currently working on a comedy special for the WB network to air in May/2005. He will continue headlining theaters with his own “Drunk in Public” tour across the World.
On November 11, 2003, Ron made his solo comedy cd debut and released “Drunk in Public” which is distributed by Universal Music. “Drunk In Public,” showcases the insightful and hilarious White, who manages to be both razor sharp & blunt. The comedy cd has been in the top four on the Billboard Comedy Charts since February of 2004, & has sold over 300,000 copies.
Ron’s 1hr long comedy special known as “They Call Me Tater Salad,” aired on Comedy Central June 27, 2004 & helped give the network its highest rated Sunday in their history attracting over 3.3 million viewers. The DVD was released on June 29, 2004 & has sold over 500,000 copies.
White has appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” in October/2002 & he has also appeared as part of Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend”. In May/2003 Ron created his own 1/2hour stand up special for Comedy Central Presents.
