Keith Urban Facts and Information:
New Zealand native Keith Urban was born October 26, 1967. This talented singer and song-writer got his break at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in Brisbane , Australia . In 1991 Keith Urban released his first album, self-titled, of which four songs made it onto the Australian charts. A year later Keith Urban moved to the United States to pursue a record deal.
Once in the U.S. , Keith Urban had humble beginnings as a session player for a band signed with Capitol Records. He helped them get two songs onto the Billboard charts and continued playing in this manner for seven years.
Finally, in 1999 Keith Urban signed to Capitol Records himself and released another self-title album, Keith Urban. The Album went platinum in sales as well as finally reaching number one on the charts with his hit-song "But For the Grace of God."
Three years following his signing with Capitol Records, Keith Urban released another album, Golden Road, and from that album he made another #1 single with "You'll Think of Me", earning him his first major nod from the music industry.
To date Keith Urban has produced six albums, with his seventh expected to release in 2009. He has earned two Grammy's, as well as having won countless awards in Australia and from other awards associations.
