Rain - The Beatles Experience Information
Rain: The Beatles Experience is unlike any show you have ever seen before. The show covers the Beatles from their earliest beginnings through the psychedelic late 60s and their long hair hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. Rain fuses historical footage and television clips from the 1960s. It is a multi-media, multi-dimensional event which features five different scene and costume changes, 3 video screens, and live camera projection. All the music in the show is performed live.
The show is divided into five sections. The first takes place in 1964 and the set is a recreation of the Beatles stage set from the Ed Sullivan show. The band is dressed in the authentic Saville Row custom tailored suits, Beatle boots, and hair styles to match the exact likenesses of John, Paul, George and Ringo. Combined with black and white camera work, the audience in instantly takes you back in time to that historic first night when Beatles first appeared on American television.
The second set takes place at Shea stadium where, with nearly 56,000 fans, the Beatles had their highest attended concert to date. With live video technology the audience can see views of the band through close ups and various angles. Also, at times the audience is projected onto the main screens for a completely, one-of-a-kind interactive experience. Sergeant Pepper is the inspiration for the third set. With music and colorful costumes of the "Sgt. Pepper" era the audience experiences the energy and excitement of seeing the Beatles live in concert.
After an intermission, the fourth set brings a bit of Flower Power to the audience. As the curtain opens it reveals the band dressed in costumes suggestive of the flower power era and they perform their music of 1967-68. The fifth and final set bring Abbey road to life. A re-creation of the famous " Abbey Road " album cover is the backdrop and the transformation is complete with costume changes that reflected the style of the Beatles during 1969-70. The visual effect is such that you think the band has stepped out of the album cover.
Rain is a show that gives the audience an opportunity to see and hear the closest thing to the Beatles. With songs such as "Let It Be," "Hey Jude," "My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Come Together" and "Can't Buy Me Love", Rain isn't just a show - it's an experience.
