About Phantom: Love Never Dies Pantages Theater Tickets:
Nearly twenty years in the making, Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to The Phantom of the Opera takes place in New York and is set in the colorful Coney Island entertainment mecca at a park called Phantasma. The Phantom of the Opera is undeniably one the most intense, conflicted, beautiful and dark fictional characters in entertainment history. The masked musical genius is Erik, the long-shunned disfigured man whose talent has garnered him the esteemed nickname “The Angel of Music.” The Phantom of the Opera has rightfully earned this moniker through his brilliant bestowment of his talent upon Christine Daaé, into whom he seems to have literally channeled the essence of his musical soul. Now, ten years after the Paris Opera, The Phantom of the Opera has secretly beckoned Christine to come to his new theater to perform for him once again in order to prove to her that indeed, Love Never Dies.
Although Christine unknowingly travels with her husband, Raoul, and the son they share, Gustave, directly into the arms of The Phantom of the Opera, once there she no doubt stays willingly. The story seems to heighten during the first act when it is revealed that The Phantom of the Opera's close connection with Christine's son Gustave may be more than that of kindred spirits. During the second act, just when it seems the story cannot become any more controversial it most certainly does when Raoul strikes an extreme deal with The Phantom of the Opera in his bid to keep Christine. While the audience is taken on the journey back into the original love triangle, yet another shunned lover, Meg, joins the mayhem. Meg is The Phantom of the Opera's star singer and Christine's former friend and unlike the others, she is decisive and takes quick and effective action on her jealousy in a climax that no one will see coming.
