Franco De Vita is a Venezuelan singer and song-writer who has been making music since 1982. Initially, Franco de Vita's musical beginnings started with a group called Icaro, which released a single album in Venezuela . Franco de Vita was just eighteen at the time.
Two years later Franco de Vita began his career as a solo artist, releasing a self-titled disc that was the introduction onto the Latin market that Franco de Vita needed. In 1986, Franco released his album Fantasia, which had some more moderate successes isolated primarily to South America and a small portion of the U.S. Latin market.
It was finally in 1988 after signing with Sony that Franco de Vita reached the U.S. national success he was looking for. The album was considered ahead of its time in the socially-conscious message it conveyed, as well as the maturity of the album.
To date, Franco de Vita has released thirteen albums and is considered a part of the foundation of the Latin market.
