Honda Center Facts and Information
The Honda Center is one of the world's top multi-purpose arenas. Construction of this outstanding facility cost 123 million dollars, which began in June 1991. It was officially opened on June 19, 1993. Originally known as the Anaheim Arena, naming rights of the facility for the next 10 years was acquired by Arrowhead Water for 15 million dollars in October 1993, and the name of the arena was changed to Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. The naming rights for the arena changed hands in 2006, when Honda Motors acquired a 15-year naming right with the option for a 10-year extension. On July 19th 2006, the arena was renamed as the Honda Center. The Honda Center is owned by the city of Anaheim and operated by Anaheim Arena Management, LLC. The Honda Center is the home of the National Hockey League team, the Anaheim Ducks. Once you enter the Honda Center you are welcomed by the arena's wide marble public lounge and glass archways, creating a very elegant ambiance. This multi purpose facility hosts sports events, concerts, and much more. It is also in close proximity to other notable places such as the Angel Stadium and Disneyland .
The Honda Center is one of the world's top venues due to its successful combination of form and function. It is acclaimed as one of the NHL's most outstanding venues because it is able to provide fans with high quality service and perfect view of a hockey game. The Honda Center has three levels, and the closest to the ice features 5,600 deluxe seats. The Plaza Concourse level features 40 suites, which can hold 10 people. The Honda Center has a total of 82 luxury suites that can accommodate 10-14 people each, depending on the suite size and location. The Honda Center has won the recognition as the 4th in 2004's Top 10 Venues based on Gross Ticket Sales of Billboard Magazine. The venue is also a 7-time nominee as Arena of the year.
Since 1993, the Honda Center has been the site of more than 2,300 events and has played host to many performers including Bon Jovi, Nine Inch Nails, Aerosmith, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Circa Survive, Janet Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Boyz II Men, Coldplay, U2, Shakira, Metallica, Madonna, Phil Collins, Queen + Paul Rodgers, Britney Spears, Barbra Streisand, Shania Twain, Destiny's Child, Beyonce, NSYNC, Tina Turner, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and many more.
