More Information:
The Stones have been rocking stages now for over 50 years and it seems they haven't given up making great music just yet. Their unique sound fusing rock with a heavy blues sound has given them several generations of fans and they no intentions of stopping anytime soon. Starting in 1962, the band set foot on a road that would take them to 24 albums, including 8 in a row making it to number 1 on Billboard, 11 live albums and several video biographies. With so many hits, it's not hard to see why they were ranked one of the most successful bands ever, second only to the Beatles. Their live shows are almost always sold out within hours of release and have never failed to bring out the best of the group. The current lineup of Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood have been together since 1975 and yet they still bring excitement and energy to the stage, even after all these years. They have played this venue a few times most notably in 1966 just a day from Mick's 23rd birthday and then again in 2005 when they returned to the legendary venue after 40 years. Since then, they have played here a few times to star packed crowds.
The Hollywood Bowl is located in Los Angeles on North Highland Ave in Hollywood and is the largest outdoor amphitheater in the world. The venue seats close over 18,000 people and has hosted some of the most legendary concerts since it's opening in 1922. The Doors performed their famous "Dream Concert" here in 1968 which is said to be their best performance ever. Genesis gave their final performance here in 2007 and the venue has hosted such legends as Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, The Beatles, Barbara Streisand, The Beach Boys, and Cher. The site has hosted The Playboy Jazz Festival every year since 1979 and the current shows being held there include Fleetwood Mac, Andrea Bocelli, and of course the Playboy Jazz Festival in June. The show featuring the Rolling Stones should be one of the finest the theatre has ever seen so make sure you get tickets or you'll miss out on the greatest show you may ever get the chance to see. With so many Hollywood stars that typically fill the seats, who knows who you may get seated near.
