Nine Inch Nails was founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor. Initially based in Cleveland , Ohio , Reznor is known for creating the brilliant lyrics and music and hiring a band to tour with him, though no one but him has ever been recognized as an official member. Jane's Addiction was founded in 1985 and has taken several highly publicized breaks on and off. Their music is influenced by goth, metal, and punk, giving way to their signature sound.
