Fleetwood Mac is one of the longest running rock bands that originated from London, England.  The band is now consists of members such as John McVie on bass guitar, Mick Fleetwood on drums and percussion, Stevie Nick on vocals, and Lindsey Buckingham on guitar and vocals.

The successful band, Fleetwood Mac was born in 1967 when Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood decided to form a new band with John McVie and Jeremy Spencer.  The band was named after Mick Fleetwood and John McVie.  However, when McVie was still deciding if he will join the band, Bob Brunning, as the bassist, temporarily joined the group.  In 1968, the band was able to release their self-entitled debut album, Fleetwood Mac.   This blues-rock album was considered a success as it hit the no. 4 spot in U.K.  The first album was followed by Mr. Wonderful in the same year that included tracks Stop Messin' Around and Dust My Broom .  As the band went to the United States, certain changes with their music and label took place.  Danny Kirwan on guitars joined Fleetwood Mac from 1968 to 1972.  The band then released Then Play On in 1969 that was considered as one of the best rock albums in the late '60s.

On the other hand, at the back of Fleetwood Mac 's success lies a frontman that was not in good condition.  Peter Green underwent electroconvulsive therapy due to mental sickness.  Because of this, Green had to leave the band and made his last show in 1970 that was considered as one of Fleetwood Mac 's most memorable shows.  The band continued to records songs, in fact, by 1970; Kiln House was released with Christine McVie.  In 1971, another successful album was recorded entitled, Future Games that featured Christine McVie as keyboardist/vocalist and Bob Welch as the new guitarist of the band.  The album was certified Gold and was the music was indeed loved by fans.

By 1972, Fleetwood Mac released Bare Trees that was certified Platinum.  The fans continued to support and embrace the music of Fleetwood Mac that shifted from blues-rock to rock music.  However, the band had to fire Danny Kirwan who became alcoholic and developed attitude problems.  Hiring of Bob Weston on guitars and Dave Walker on vocals soon followed that led to recording of Penguin in 1973.  Struggling from different conflicts within the group, after six months, the band was able to release Mystery To Me .  On the other hand, the band had to deal with the issue regarding the ownership of the name " Fleetwood Mac " as Clifford Davis claimed that he owned the name.  Bill Graham helped the band by informing and convincing the Warner Bros. that McVies, Fleetwood and Welch were the real Fleetwood Mac .  The band continued to record Heroes Are Hard To Find , which was released in 1974.

In 1975, after Bob Welch left the band, Fleetwood Mac was able to do another recording with their new members, Lindsey Buckingham on guitar/vocals and his girlfriend, Stevie Nicks on vocals.  The band successfully released Fleetwood Mac (album) that is also called The White Album , which hit the number one spot of the Billboard charts and sold 4.5 million copies.  It was followed by Rumours in 1977 that was considered as the band's best selling rock and roll album worldwide.

In 1979, they released Tusk with a touch of New Wave and punk rock by Lindsey Buckingham.  It sold more than two million copies in the United States and was certified double-platinum.  By 1982, the band successfully released Mirage with popular tracks such as Love in Store , Oh Diane , Gypsy and many more.  The album hit the no.1 spot in US charts, no.5 in UK and   no.2 in Australia.  Tango in the Night was released in 1987 that hit the no.1 spot in UK.

After Lindsey Buckingham left the band, Fleetwood Mac released another album entitled, Behind the Mask.  The two new additions included Billy Burnette and Rick Vito on both guitar and vocals.  In 1995, the band released their album Time featuring Bekka Bramlett on vocals and Dave Mason on guitar and vocals, with the participations of Lindsey Buckingham, Michael Thompson, Lucy Fleetwood, Steve Thoma, Fred Tackett, and John Jones.  Moreover, in 1998, Christine McVie decided to leave the band.

In 2003, Fleetwood Mac still proved that their passion in music was unfailing.  The band then released Say You Will that hit the no.3 spot in the US charts and no.6 in UK.  As they continue to express great music, the fans also continue to support them, which proves that their music is exemplary and could pass on from generation to generation.
