The Greek Theater Summer Nights For All
The Greek Theatre is one of the most popular concert venues in Los Angeles and with the summer lineup of 2014, it’s easy to see why. As summer kicks off, it is a perfect time of year in Los Angeles to sit under the stars and listen to some incredible performers starting with Il Volo on June 7th. The following night, ‘Rebuild! Philippines: A Benefit Concert’ will be performing for a great cause in helping the Philippines recover from a devastating typhoon earlier this year. In mid June, the American rock band The Fray will be stopping in for one night followed by Gavin Degraw and Matt Nathanson. As June draws to a close, Micheal Franti & Spearhead will be stopping by with their blended sound of funk, reggae, folk and rock. After her first album of original music in four years drops at the beginning of May, Sarah McLachlan will be performing for one night on June 28th.
As summer rolls into July, Jurassic 5 will be bringing their unique sound of alternative hip hop to the stage as they make a stop in LA on their much awaited reunion tour on July 12th. On July 19th living legend Ringo Starr and His All Star Band will be performing, followed a few days later by rock bands The Goo Goo Dolls and Daughtry on their combined tour with special guest Plain White T’s. Folk singer Tori Amos, country superstar Dierks Bentley and the legendary Foreigner/STYX will be rounding out the July lineup.
Classic rock icons Chicago and REO Speedwagon will be performing to kick off the last month of summer on August 1st and Los Lonely Boys and Kenny Wayne Shepherd will be performing the following night. On August 12th some of the best bands from the 90s, like Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Blues Traveler, and Uncle Kracker, will be performing all of their hits. As summer begins to come to an end, the last two weeks of August at the Greek will see some fantastic acts including ZZ Top and Jeff Beck on August 13th, The Counting Crows August 17th, Panic! At the Disco on August 26th, and Jack Johnson for two nights on August 27th and 28th. The Gipsy Kings will be performing on the last night of August to end an incredible summer of music at The Greek Theatre.
