"As a kid, I used to play hockey at the Great Western Forum during the King's half-time. Every year we'd work so hard to make it to the All-Star team for that chance to hit the same Forum arena as greats such as the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings. There was nothing quite like it. We'd play in front of 16,000 seats, each one occupied, and my love for the Forum is one that has never gone away. I have grown up with it. I've seen concerts there, where the stands grow even more, to fit 18,000 people. Today it is called simply the Forum, but I will always know it as the Great Western Forum, home to some of the greatest events and games to mark Los Angeles ' history."

Great Western Forum Brief History and Background
The Forum, or formerly known as the Great Western Forum, has been home to every great Los Angeles team at one time or another since it opened in 1967. The Lakers played at the Forum for 32 years before leaving in 1999. The sparks, Los Angeles ' women's basketball team, called the Forum home from 1997 to 2000. So did the Lazers, United, Stars, the Blades, as well as being host to the 1984 Summer Olympics.
It cost $16 million to finish the Fabulous Forum, and in 1967 Lakers owner Jack Cooke, who also founded the Los Angeles Kings, was responsible for its undertaking. During hockey, it seats 16,000 fans, 17,500 for basketball, and 18,000 during a concert. It offers 2,400 club seats and no seat is more than 170 feet from the arena.
Today it is owned by a church and is still used for concerts such as Foo Fighters, Rolling Stones, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 2003 they lost the contract to keep its name "Great Western Forum", which is why today it is referred to simply as The Forum.
Located in Inglewood , CA , the Forum's concerts sound quality is fueled by the circular shape of the arena. Every seat in the house is close to the stage. There is no place to rock at a rock concert than at Los Angeles ' The Forum.
