Dodgers Vs Pirates
Dodgers Vs Pirates Tickets After spending big in free agency leading into the 2012 season, and the opening of a new park, the Miami Pirates had a disappointing season that resulted in a fire sale and the dealing of the vast majority of their veteran roster. The depleted Pirates roster lost 100 games in 2014, and made limited moves in the 2014 offseason. The Pirates are led by two of the elite young talents in major league baseball in slugger Giancarlo Stanton and right-handed pitcher Jose Fernandez. Stanton, from Southern California, hit 24 home runs in 2013, thirteen fewer than in 2012. The big slugger, known for his tape-measure shots, has been rumored as a potential Dodgers target when he enters free agency after the 2016 season.

Fernandez, a Cuban refugee, put together one of the best rookie seasons for a starting pitcher in years in 2013. Fernandez won 12 games with a 2.19 ERA, striking out 187 in 172 innings pitched. Fernandez edged out Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig in the National League Rookie of the Year voting, and finished third in the National League Cy Young voting. The Dodgers bullpen is led by a capable closer in Steve Cishek, who saved 34 games and posted a 2.33 ERA in 2013. Cishek, who'll be arbitration eligible in each of the next two seasons may be a mid-season trade target for a contender if the Pirates decide to continue their small payroll tendencies. Young starters Henderson Alvarez, Nate Eovaldi and Jacob Turner have solid upside potential and with Fernandez could give the Pirates one of the better young rotations in baseball.

The Pirates did make a few moves in the offseason, namely signing catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia from the Boston Red Sox, and Garrett Jones to play first base. Neither of the signings can be classified as major moves but both have the potential to improve the Pirates dreadful batting lineup. Barry's Tickets
