The Citizens Bank Arena Los Angeles is a multi-purpose arena that hosts all kinds of events ranging from basketball to ice hockey to boxing and even concerts. The full capacity of this arena is 11,089 though the number of fixed seats is 9,500. There is additional portable seating which makes room for 9,736 persons for ice hockey, 10, 832 for basketball and 11, 089 for concerts. It is also recognized as the biggest and the most advanced arena in the region.
The Los Angeles Citizens bank Arena was constructed on old Ontario Motor Speedway property and the construction cost of the arena was about $150 million.
Originally called the Ontario Community Events Center, the Los Angeles Citizens Bank Arena was opened in October, 2008 and has been the venue for many local sporting events and concerts. It is owned by the city of Ontario and is operated by AEG Worldwide, which owns a number of sports franchises and operates many arenas worldwide.
The first event held in the arena was an NBA preseason game between Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder and the first concert was by Carrie Underwod. As a part of their Death Magnetic Tour, Metallica also performed here in December, 2008. In September 2009, there was also a bull riding event hosted at the Citizens Bank Arena Los Angeles.
There are more than 3,500 parking spaces available adjacent to the Citizens Bank Arena Los Angeles. This makes driving to the place a problem free experience. Smoking is prohibited in the theatre and cameras and electronic devices must be switched off.
