The Stones are coming to the Honda Center
The Rolling Stones have announced the dates for their anticipated 50 & Counting Tour and they'll be playing the Honda Center on May 15th. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood will bring their beloved music and powerful stage shows to nine US cities in total.
"50 & Counting has been pretty amazing so far," said Mick Jagger, on the bands official website. "We did a few shows in London and New York last year…and had such a good time that we thought…let's do some more. It's a good show. Lots of the classic stuff everyone wants to hear…with a few little gems tucked in here and there"
The Stones are no stranger to LA, having first played the Swing Auditorium in San Bernadino in June of 1964, forty-nine years prior to the start of the current tour.
The stage design for the tour is based on the band's famous tongue and lips logo, which extends out into the crowd, allowing the Stones to interact directly with their audience. The Stones' set design will feature video screens and special effects that will enhance the high-octane experience of attending a live Stones' concert. The Stones haven't done a full world tour since the "Bigger Bang" tour in 2007 so tickets to the 50 & Counting Tour will be in high demand. The band announced that guitarist and former member Mick Taylor will be a special guest throughout the tour.
According to Keith Richards the band can't wait to kick off the tour:
"From day one at rehearsals it sounded so fresh. You could tell that everybody was dying to get their teeth into it. It was like…open the gates…let us out!" added Keith Richards in a statement of his own. "Cause man, it is the life and blood of us to play in front of people."
Billboard is reporting that the tour will be a total of 18 dates, meaning that all nine of the stops, including the Honda Center, could get second nights.
