There are a lot of reasons why buying Atlanta Hawks vs. Los Angeles Lakers tickets are worth every penny you’d be spending. The Lakers is known for their tenacity and explosive game plays while the Atlanta Hawks are filled with young talents with impressive athleticism. It is also an opportunity to see two of the league’s leading scorers, Kobe Bryant and Joe Johnson, go head to head.

The Lakers has proven time and again that it is one of the most successful franchise in the NBA. The Lakers is so efficient, that the franchise has only failed to attend the NBA Play-offs 5 times. As of the end of the NBA’s 2005-06 season, the Los Angeles Lakers also hold the record for having the most finals appearance, participating in the NBA championships 28 times. The Lakers is also the record-holder of the longest winning streak in any sport in the United States. The longest Lakers winning streak of the Lakers is 33 consecutive victories.

A good reason to buy Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks tickets is to watch the Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant is not only among the league’s leading scorers, but also a brilliant play-maker. This could best be pictured in the Lakers game against the New Jersey Nets last 22nd of December, 2006, where the premier guard scored 21 points and dished 11 assists to help hold-off the Nets and grab a 99-95 win. Kobe Bryant is also deadly and tenacious on offense, scoring 81 points against the Toronto Raptors last January of 2006, a feat that only the Hall of Famer NBA star Wilt Chamberlain is able to beat with his legendary 100-point game.

The forward Lamar Odom is also among those who stand-out in the Lakers line-up. Odom’s scoring is second only to Kobe and his average of 17.5 PPG is more than enough to cause problems for the other team. The 7-year veteran is also a smart play-maker, averaging 4.9 assists per game. The 6 foot 10 forward from Rhode Island is also deadly in mid and long range, having a 3-pt percentage of .354.

Add two more deadly outside shooters in the person of forwards Vladimir Radmanovic and Luke Walton, and the problems of the other teams grow exponentially. Radmanovic has a formidable 3-pt. percentage of .404 while Walton has a stellar 3-pt. percentage of .500.

Two young talents of the Lakers, in the person of center Andrew Bynum and point guard Jordan Farmar, also holds much promise. The talented center from St. Joseph High School in New Jersey is under the direct guidance of the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, while the promising guard from UCLA has both athleticism and deep knowledge of the game to gain the respect of basketball analyst and even the “Zen Master” Phil Jackson.

The Atlanta Hawks is among the flashiest team around today. The Hawks joined the NBA in 1946 and was known as the Tri-Cities Blackhawks. The franchise eventually moved to Atlanta 1968.

The Atlanta Hawks is led by one of the NBA’s leading scorers, Joe Johnson. The 5-year veteran from Arkansas is a deadly 3 pt. shooter and also has a reputation as a dunk-happy player. The talented Mr. Johnson is also a brilliant play maker, averaging 3.9 assists per game. Joe Johnson has an average of 28.3 PPG, and 4.9 RPG. His offensive capability can best be pictured when scored 33 points against the Portland Trailblazers, 12 of which are from the 3-pt. line, to help secure a 96-107 win on the 3rd of December, 2006. He also contributed 6 boards, 6 assists, and a steal. Watching Joe Johnson in action against Kobe Bryant is a good reason to buy Atlanta Hawks vs. Lakers tickets.

Another formidable player in the Atlanta line-up is the 8-year veteran from Nebraska, Tyron Lue. Tyron Lue has impressive speed and is a decent threat in 3-pt.range. Tyron Lue averages 14.7 PPG, 2.50 RPG, and 3.7 APG. If you underestimate Lue, he is sure to make you pay, as he displays in the Atlanta Hawk’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats on the 29th of November, 2006. Tyron Lue scored 25 points, 9 of which are from the 3-pt. line, and dished 3 assists to help secure a 99-90 win against the Bobcats.

Yet another formidable player in the Atlanta Hawks’ line-up is center Zaza Pachulia. The talented 6’11” center from Georgia, Europe has a season average of 13.4 PPG, 7.60 RPG, and 1.7 APG. The 3-year pro player has a solid offense and should always be considered a threat on the inside. Zaza Pachulia’s considerable contribution to the Atlanta Hawks can best be visualized with his performance against the Memphis Grizzlies on the 15th of December, 2006, where he scored 22 points, grabbed 7 boards, had a steals and an assist, and 2 blocks.

Another interesting player in the Atlanta Hawks team that might spice-up the game is the 2005 Slam Dunk Champion Josh Smith. The dunk-happy guard from Oak Hills Academy is another offensive threat in the Atlanta Hawks roster. He is not just an offensive threat, but also a tight defender. His jumping ability can be credited with his impressive 2.4 BPG average. Josh Smith has a season average of 13.1 PPG, 8.50 RPG, 1.5 SPG, and 3.4 APG. Watching Josh Smith in action is a perfect reason to get Lakers vs. Hawks Tickets.

Yet another player to watch-out for is the forward from North Carolina, Marvin Williams. The 6 foot 9 forward shows explosive potential and has a solid offense. Marvin Williams has a season average of 12.9 PPG, 4.00 RPG, and 1.1 APG. The former Tar Heel is also an outside threat. His Athleticism can best be pictured in the Atlanta Hawks game against the Chicago Bulls on the 16th of December, 2006. Marvin Williams scored 23 points, 6 of which are from the 3-pt. line. He also grabbed 7 boards, blocked 2 shots.

Lakers vs. Hawks tickets are sure to be money well spent as these two teams have a reputation not only for their athleticism, but also because of their tendency to go into “show time.” Be sure to grab Lakers vs. Hawks tickets and have the time of your life.

The Lakers began in 1946 when Ben Berger and Morris Chalfen bought the Detroit Gems of the National Basketball League for $15,000 and relocated it to Minneapolis. As the Gems had by far the worst record in the NBL, the Lakers had the first pick in the 1947 dispersal draft of players from the Professional Basketball League of America, which they used to select George Mikan, later to become arguably the greatest center of his time. With Mikan, new coach John Kundla and an infusion of former University of Minnesota players, the Lakers won the NBL championship in that 1947-48 season and joined four other NBL teams in jumping to the Basketball Association of America, where they promptly won the 1948-49 BAA championship. The NBL and BAA merged to become the NBA in 1949. The Minneapolis Lakers were one of the dominant teams of the fledgling NBA. With Hall of Famers George Mikan, Vern Mikkelsen, Jim Pollard, Slater Martin, and Clyde Lovellette, they were the NBA's first "dynasty", winning five championships in six years (1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, and 1954). After their move to Los Angeles in 1960, the team featured Hall of Famers Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Gail Goodrich, and Wilt Chamberlain, but despite the wealth of talent, they were repeatedly foiled by the Boston Celtics, losing the championship to them six times in eight years. It wasn't until 1972 when they strung together a record 33-game win streak under Coach of the Year Bill Sharman that they were able to secure their first championship in Los Angeles. However, even with the addition of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, they weren't able to win another championship until the arrival of Ervin "Magic" Johnson in 1979, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers thanks to an MVP performance by the rookie Johnson, who, starting for the injured Abdul-Jabbar, had 42 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists to clinch the series. Under coach Pat Riley, a former Laker player, the Lakers then went on to dominate the 1980s, appearing in the finals eight times in the decade and being crowned champions five times, including consecutive championships in 1987 and 1988, the first team to do so since Boston in 1969. Although they made another finals appearance in 1991, they spent most of the 1990s fielding teams that were not considered legitimate title contenders. However, during the 1996-1997 off-season, the Lakers acquired Shaquille O'Neal from the Orlando Magic and newly-drafted Kobe Bryant from the Charlotte Hornets. Following the hiring of Phil Jackson as head coach in 1999, the team returned to championship form; led by O'Neal, Bryant, and a talented supporting cast, the Lakers won three consecutive NBA Finals from 2000-02. Most recently, the Lakers endured a series of off-the-court problems, largely the result of friction among O'Neal, Bryant, and Jackson. In 2004, O'Neal was traded to the Miami Heat and Jackson temporarily retired. After the Lakers struggled in 2004-05, Jackson returned for the following season, and the Bryant-led team returned to the postseason, losing to the Phoenix Suns in the first round.
